I enjoyed reading this book. I loved Daphne du Maurier’s ability to shift the prose from sweet to angry all dependent of the needs of the scene. He used each and every word to its 10th power. I could hear the authors voice, tone, and very formal diction. Each character has a secret; each character is worried about what everyone else will think. I followed the breadcrumbs of this story to the very end and came out surprised. Wonderful read.
