I'm not sure why it took so many years for me to get around to reading this book. I've read a number of Dickens' other novels, (Pickwick Papers, David Copperfield, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, The Old Curiosity Shop) but this one... this one is awesome. The description of the carnage that was the Reign of Terror is pretty horrifying. And yet there are moments of wonderful humor, the tenderest love.
