This book, written in a poetics of the body, is one of my all-time favorites. For me, it is a masterpiece. Not least because it examines the dialectical relationship between Life and Art. It was like going on a road trip (I listened to most of it while driving) with a friend who enjoyed reading poetry aloud, not really caring if I was listening, or not, and not even expecting a reply or reaction. Like Hemingway, if I had the kind of stuff Woolf writes about in my head I would have to kill myself, too.
