Wow what an enchanting, engrossing, absolutely thrilling tale! This is one of those novels, you want to tell people about, even buy it for their birthday! You hear the hype and decide to try it, and guess what you will be blown away!

I was really looking forward to reading this, after all I'd heard about the novel. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't bad, just not great, and that's what I thought it was going to be. The pacing felt really strange to me, the characters mostly seemed to be annoying, the dialogue never really grabbed me. I guess I might recommend it as a super quick, light read, but definitely not anything that gets the brain working.

An intoxicating read and it certainly lived up to all the hype.
The imagery is powerful, the characters are well thought-out and written and you feel that you know them, and then it all gets pulled together by an almost unbelievable tale of violence, love and ambition.
