Waiting for this book is like waiting for the grade on the physics test you didn't study for but you feel you knew all the material.
Like, I want it to happen but I don't? Will it suck? Will it redeem my faith in JaceClarySimonIsablleMagnusAlecMayrseSebastianLukeMaia and all the other made-to-suck characters? Please, Ms. Clare, I beg of you: I had to sit through chapters of Jace Clary foreplay. Alec. Magnus. Let's go :P. ...more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. City of the Fallen Angels leaves us with a huge cliff-hanger in the end, revolving Jace and Sabastian. As I read that one last page of COFA I was left completely confused. I wasn't sure what had truly happen. My first thought was that Sabastian had gotten control of Jace's body or that Jace was dead, truly unlikely but hey, its one's imagination. And yes I was half right about the controlling part but not about the taking over of the body. Jace was being controlled by Sabastian but both had thei City of the Fallen Angels leaves us with a huge cliff-hanger in the end, revolving Jace and Sabastian. My first thought was that Sabastian had gotten control of Jace's body or that Jace was dead, truly unlikely but hey, its one's imagination. Jace was being controlled by Sabastian but both had their own body, except that if one of them got hurt or killed, the other one would be hurt and killed as well. This was all due to that mark that the both of them had over their hearts that was bonding them together. As Lilth said,"if a life is brought back by the light, a life is to be brought back by the dark", meaning that Sabastian was to be brought back as to not upset the balance of unverals laws.

In City of the Lost Souls, Clary, Simone, Alec, Isabelle and Magnus fight against all odds to find a way to free Jace from Sabastain's hold, and in the process destroying Sabastian for all the evil doings of his.

Clary, going to great lenghts to save her belove Jace even if it means going to the dark side in order to accomplish what she's set out to do,has no choice left but to try to inflitrate and pretend to join forces with Sabastian, her evil brother who plans to bring down the Clave and creat a new race of shadowhunters that will do his bidding, so as to find a way to be closer to the Jace but not Jace that she loves.

Simon summons up Raziel, the same angel who brought back Jace from the dead, in the hopes of findinga and getting a weapon that can destroy the bond that holds Jace prisoner to Sabastian. Simon not caring what he has to give up in order to get ahold of the weapon, gives up his mark of cain to the angel, who in return promises to give him the Sword of Heavenly Fire, Glorious.

Alec, who desperately wants to save his brother Jace but also fighting a battle of his own that involves his boyfriend Magnus, wants to find a way to make his boyfriend mortal, even if that means seeking help from the evil vampire Camilile, who ends up being killed by Maureen, the little girl who Simon bit in book four and who becomes a rouge vampire and also the leader of the Manhattan Clan in the end of COLS.

Isabelle, wanting to free Jace like the others and also wanting to bring down Sabastian for the death of her little brother Max, and also wanting to tell Simon how she feels about him but at the same time afaid that he might not feel the same way, decides to keep quite and not say anything to Simon and pretend like she doesn't like him, even though it shows on her face how much she's come to care about Simon.

Magnus, no other choice but to find a way to free Jace, decides to do everything in his power, even summoning up a demon who could possibly destroy the whole world if he is let lose, in order to make his boyfriend happy, Alec. In the end of the book though, when Jace is freed and everything is somehow normal except the part where Sabastian managed to get away, Magnus finds out what Alec was doing behind his back and decides to break-up with him because he felt betrayed by the one person he truly cared about.

I give the book a four star rating because it was everything that I expected and more. I think its by far better than the last book. There was so much romance between the characters and also so much saddness, relationships being made, relationships being destroyed, god it was so awsome!I truly do recommend people continue reading the series. ...more

I thought this quote was a great way to start my review. I thought this book was amazing. Cassandra Clare is an awesome author. Her characters are witty, sarcastic and extremely lovable.

Sebastian has linked himself to Jace and you cannot do something to one without it happending to the other. The Clave has almost given up on looking for them. It's up to Clary to save Jace, once again.
