This turned out to be surprisingly good!

I'm not really into analyzing literature. I do reviews, yes, but an in-depth look to the book you've read so you can somehow connect it to real-life situations is something I'm not really interested to do. Not because I don't think it's important, because it is, but because I read books for fun. To explore new worlds. Not to study it so I can compare it to the ~~dull~~ world I live in.

Okay, let me get this out first. I have this love-hate relationship in terms of analyzing books.

Sometimes I love digging deep into the smallest and most mundane details in a book, and try to unravel all of the secret plots/twists the author has in store for the readers. Yeah, sometimes I go crazy over a line such as, "I have never seen someone ate so much carrots in my life". I'm like, HAWGUAGJWBAYGWHAVHGWVA HE LOVES CARROTS!!! MAYBE HE'S A HYBRID BUNNY/HUMANOID OUT TO DESTROY THE MODE 2.5 stars?

Okay, let me get this out first. I have this love-hate relationship in terms of analyzing books.

MAYBE HE'S A HYBRID BUNNY/HUMANOID OUT TO DESTROY THE MODERN WORLD AS REVENGE FOR THE RISING PRICES OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS DUE TO POLLUTION BROUGHT ABOUT CIVILIZATION! Yeah. I got a little overboard sometimes. Sorry. But it's probable right? Righttt?

But sometimes, I also despise it. Because let's face it, over analysis sometimes destroy the very essence of the book itself. Which is, entertaining readers.

I give this a three star rating because I am somewhere between this love/hate phase. I love seeing the the POVs of authors (especially those whose books I also love!), concerning the world of The Mortal Instruments. I started to see the series with new eyes. I started to rethink things, and tell myself, "Yeah! That actually makes sense! Why didn't I see that the first time(or second, or third or any other nth time) I've read the book?". It was fun reliving the series in the essays of the people included in this book,

BUT... (Yeah, there's a but!)

But, I also kinda wished I didn't saw it with new eyes because the next time I read it, I will now end up connecting the things I read here with the things I will reread. And I'm afraid that I will not enjoy it as much as I did the first, or second, or third or any other nth time before. I think I know too much now to be excited in reveling more mysteries left to be unfold in revisiting a book you love.

As the saying goes, "Too little or too much of anything is both bad. Moderation is key." or something like that. I think for this, it's a matter of information overload and it ended up to be little bit too much. ...more
