I was so excited to get this book, and start reading it as soon as it came out! I've been on Cat & Bones withdrawals because the 4th book in the series was a bit mehh, and then we got 2 books in the Night Huntress World spin-off, and I was not so happy with Spade's, and I did liked Mencheres.
But here we are back with Cat & Bones.... Ahhhh... Opening scene... LOVED IT! I wouldn't mind having him shackled to a cave wall! After that though it started going really slow for me.

"I know I'm delicious. Nummy.....nummy.".
Oh Vlad, you make me laugh.
Altogether a wonderful addition to the Night Huntress series! In this latest installment Cat has pretty much become used to her new dead self, even though she is still ....quite unusual. And with these unusual abilities of hers we find them on the verge of destroying a long-standing truce between the vampires and the ghouls. Vampires are disappearing and the master-less are becoming agitated and scared.

What can I say that already hasn't been said...what a f--king awesome read.
In this installment Cat and Bones worked together instead of one of them running off half assed and half cocked. Thank goodness, because they work so well together...
There is one scene where Cat is dominating Bones, using candles, hot wax and fangs that literally will be etched in my mind forever...it was so damn hot and sexy.
And Bones and Vlad are funny has hell, quick witted, smart asses...they both had me laughing jus ...more

I love this series however I can honestly say this book just was not as enjoyable as the other installments. Cat needed to grow up (it was way past time for that) and in this book she did. That particular part of the story was refreshing. What I did not enjoy was seeing hardened vamps like Spade and Mercheres whipped. I read their books so I knew they had mates but having Spade run to Denise's side when she was going through the pain of shifting to say "Darling, are you okay?" I nearly gaged. Th

I have this funny feeling that this structure to the plot is starting to be the same. As fun as the dialogue is, this oops can't be over looked.
Please note that I'm upset about this.
Mrs. Frost please bring back the awesomeness factor that made me love the first three books. That would be the use of more foreshadowing, and multiple villains. ...more
