Ohh but how I've loved his badass self throughout this series and this book was off-the-charts amazing. Completely different than a lot of the books in this series, this author never ceases to amaze me. She can create a completely di Lothaire the Enemy of Old. He's known his bride was Elizabeth since she was nothing but a human teenager. A mountain redneck human teenager, with no class and very little education at that. He never thought he could be paired with one such as her. Until Saroya possesses Ellie's body. That must be his bride. Fit to rule alongside him when he recovers his kingdoms! To free Saroya, he must destroy Ellie's soul. But he can't do that without La Doradas' ring. RRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG

I'm not telling you what happens, all I want to say is this:
Lothaire is one bad, ruthless vampire, but he will make your body shudder and your girly bits quiver! He is so sexy! So in charge and in control! Ellie is very sweet and maybe just the right personality for him, and definitely the right species to bring him down a notch.

They've both been through so much but there were times when my heart would break for Lothaire, what he has suffered, why he is the way he is. And the moment he realizes that others have tried to help him and have been there for him is priceless.

And how can we forget the valkyries, crazy as always, love them. Best of all Nix. She has her lucid moments and her crazy ones, but when the haze in her head has to clear she manages to show us a bit more of her true self in this book. And all the new characters? Ohh the possibilities!

And the last thing I just have to say... if you've never listened to an audiobook, do yourself a favor and get this one. Robert Petkoff brings Lothaire to life, with a perfect and very sexy accent, and enough emotion in telling this story that I felt I was actually watching it play out in front of me.

Loved reading this book again, it was so hilarious, I loved this couple and their story, and I can't wait to continue the series again!

Oh, man, such a great book, loved being in Lothaire's head, and how his best friend used to be Phenix, and now everyone that used to call her that is dead besides him, now she's just Nix, and yeah, Ellie was awesome! Loved her! Must read more of this series! ...more

Damn this was everything and more of what I expected our arrogant Lothaire's story to be.
Ellie was everything I'd hoped his Bride to be. She came from the most unexpected place and she put Lothaire in his place...Good girl Ellie. She is fierce and courageous and selfless, and much much smarter than Lothaire gave her credit for, (at least in the beginning.) Lothaire brings a truly troubled mind to the table and Ellie seems to be the only person who can ground him.

This series is definately one of my favourites and this new book in the series didn't disappoint.
I always wondered how Lothaire would be turned into a leading man and whether he could redeem himself to be a likable character.

Thank You Kresley Cole for giving me Lothaire. I think my jaded heart had given up on running into a character as exciting as Lothaire. There is so much to love about this book. I am so glad I waited to read it until I could approach it without expectations. Some of the reviews had me worried but it was unfounded.

First thing I would say to those who haven鈥檛 tried the Immortals After Dark 鈥� come out from under the rock. Lothaire, The Enemy of Old, sows seeds of discord and treachery throughout the previous books. He doesn鈥檛 stop here. I never tired of his drama yet never knew his endgame. I was excited to see the book published with just his name and not including the 鈥業mmortals After Dark鈥� series name. I am hopeful it鈥檚 a spinoff series鈥�.PLEASE LET IT BE SO.

In this series launch (hopeful remember), Lothaire meets his bride or brides depending on one鈥檚 perspective. It seems there is one body with two women in it. One is the original owner, a young hillbilly girl. The other is a cursed goddess. Lothaire, having an ego that could occupy its own galaxy, considered this a no-brainer. Re-claim the artifact that can grant him a few strategic wishes including casting out the trailer trash to get to the goddess. The goddess is a heartless as Lothaire and plans to rule the world at his side since he is a prince after all. There are more than a few problems with both their plans but I won鈥檛 give those away. I will say that it doesn鈥檛 occur to Lothaire that the hillbilly might actually be his destined bride. Lothaire treats the girl, Ellie, like crap. On a daily basis, he makes sure she understands she is an inconvenience. Ellie has tried everything to get rid of the goddess who is a homicidal maniac being the goddess of death. Between the goddess and Lothaire, the girl can barely catch a break or maintain her self-respect. I absolutely loved her and cringed when Lothaire felt the need to remind her she was worthless as anything other than a hot body. The fact that she is human is also a problem his artifact can solve since he can't make a female vampire. That pesky artifact is also being sought by another evil goddess who is the true owner. This didn't stop Lothaire from stealing it along with her mummifed finger a few books back. He lost it, of course but has plans to kill anything that keeps him from getting it back. All this while he is also going further insane. Yeah, he is crazy too.

In a journey to true love, Ms. Cole made me laugh, tear up, and cuss like a sailor. It was a blast from page one to the conclusion. I am gonna buy this puppy for Kindle at some point so I can just bookmark Lothaire鈥檚 comments. He has nasty down to an art form. There is a familiar cast of characters but they didn鈥檛 carry the book for me as much as in previous series installments. There is the one exception of Nix time. That was different and can mean anything in the hands of Ms. Cole. The sex might have been the hottest yet. I can鈥檛 be certain other than to say, not for the faint and not skip-able. The book ends with the feel of more to come. Lothaire鈥檚 ego is not finished. He has a world to conquer and a few secrets up his sleeve. Ellie, bless her heart, has her work cut out for her with her groom. I do believe she is the woman for the job.

I love Lothaire. I love Lothaire. I LOVE Lothaire. I LOVE LOTHAIRE.

Just look at that face...just makes me feel all giddy inside HiHi

This is my favorite in the series to date. There is just something about a bad guy in this case a superlative evil vampire that falls in love. And to a human hillbilly to boot, you would think he got the short end of the bargain with the brides but no, I love Ellie.

Holy hell what a story!!!! At first I was unsure...lothaire bowing down to some woman...but oh man it got so good I could NOT put it down and what an ending!! I cracked up at the crazy Valkyrie in Val hall and I got choked up for Ellie (Regins nickname for her made me snort!!) such a great installment in this fantastic series!!!
