This is a great series. Post apocalyptic mid west America.

Glory, minding her own business, is on a plane on her way to San Fran for a job interview in marine biology; when suddenly the plane falls out of the sky.

On the ground, a hunting party, comes across 2 women walking, looking for help. One of them is Glory, and Wolf's Shadow recognises the scent of his mate. He organises the rescue of the other plane victims and escorts Glory to the Wolf Clan camp.

Helping the survivor's of the plane crash was the order of the day, finding his mate among them was not. Of course she had to be the most outspoken, frustrating, and lusciously built female he has ever seen, but that's exactly who Wolf's Shadow's wolf has chosen for him and he couldn't be more thrilled. Of course she had to be the most outspoken, frustrating, and lusciously built female he has ever seen, but that's exactly who Wolf's Shadow's wolf has chosen for him and he couldn't be more thrilled. Glory was made to test his patience, but the thought of going back to living a lonely life without a mate is a far worse fate. Before he can be fully satisfied in his new mating, Wolf's Shadow has a few lessons in the ways of Glory, coming to him and if he doesn't pay attention he may just end up pushing her away for good. He isn't the only one learning from a little self-restraint and distance though.

Glory just couldn't believe her luck when the hottest guy in barely a stitch of clothing decides that she would be warming his tepee. Not one to disappoint, Glory gives back enthusiastically until Wolf's Shadow's insistent dominant side tries to gain her submission. With her hackles raised, she pushes him away and refuses to believe any of his tender words or actions. While becoming accustomed to this new harsh environment is bad enough, how will Glory become accustomed to being a wolf's mate much less an Alpha's mate? Does she even want to? The choice is soon taken away and so is Glory at the insistence of the Clan's Lupa and once removed the decision becomes painfully clear.

The second installment to Maddy Barone's After the Crash series starts with a familiar scene of crash survivors searching for help, but end up with more than they bargained for. The dots between both this story and the first are more firmly connected as the two intertwine and some of our favorite characters make guest appearances later on in the story. Ms. Barone's overall series plotline is riveting to say the least, with some dramatic circumstances such as a mother reuniting with her son to find him old enough to be her grandfather playing out. There are several more stories waiting to be told with the secondary characters introduced and I can't wait to come back to this futuristicly challenged old west.

The romantic development of the lead characters is nicely paced throughout the story with great insight into their individual personalities. Glory is a fierce woman with a body type identifiable by many. Wolf's Shadow is just the type of Alpha male with a strong presence and even temperament to combat with such a stubborn woman. Their intimacy makes for some erotic reading due in large part to Wolf's Shadow's innocence.

Fan's of both romance and paranormal alike should absolutely check out this series. Ms. Barone's work is guaranteed to be like nothing else you've ever read.
