This was a pretty hot anthology, with two stories I really liked and two that were just okay for me.

Reckless by Maya Banks is another one of those "my-brother-is-his-best-friend-but-I'd-wish-he'd-see-me-as-more-than-the-kid-sister" stories. Nikki Durant has always loved Sheriff J.T. Summers, even though he's 12 years older than her and is best friends with her older brother Lucas. Red-Hot Summer is hot indeed and a satisfying anthology featuring four very spicy stories, all of which I really liked.

4 陆 stars 鈥� Contemporary Romance/Erotica 鈥� Reckless by Maya Banks is about small town sheriff J.T. trying to fight his lust and feelings for his best friend鈥檚 off-limits 鈥榢id鈥� sister Nikki, who鈥檚 darn determined to make him hers, despite their 12-year age difference. She鈥檚 wanted and loved him ever since she was a teen, and now that she鈥檚 back in town and their both adults, she鈥檚 not letting him get away, even if she has to get herself arrested to succeed with seduction! This is a stand-alone sequel to the story Brazen, and the characters from it, Jasmine, Seth, and Zane, play small roles here. It鈥檚 a sexy, sweet story that fans of Maya Banks should enjoy. 4 陆 stars

4 stars 鈥� Contemporary Romance/Erotica/M茅nage 鈥� Color My Heart by Red Garnier is a very steamy story about brokenhearted artist Hannah who literally throws herself at a complete stranger, who happens to be her neighbor Billy. They engage in a sex only relationship for a bit, but eventually he wants more from her and she鈥檚 not willing to risk her heart again. To show Billy that she鈥檚 only interested in sex, she brings hot neighbor Lance into the mix and they engage in a hot, angry three-way, but Billy is determined to prove that she鈥檚 all his. This story is smokin鈥� hot, especially a scene involving very creative use of a paintbrush鈥owza! 4 stars

4 陆 stars 鈥� Contemporary Romance/Erotica/M茅nage鈥� Heat of the Moment by Elle Kennedy was my favorite story of the whole lot. It鈥檚 about perky bakery/caf茅 owner Shelby who harbors a serious year-long crush, which she mistakenly thinks is one-sided, on Navy SEAL John Garrett. He鈥檚 been coming to her caf茅 and buying fancy overpriced mochas for a year, just to spend time with Shelby, but she thinks he only sees her as a friend. He鈥檚 got a wild sexual past, so Shelby sets out to seduce him and his best friend Carson into a m茅nage to prove she鈥檚 not just an innocent, freckle-faced, vanilla-sex gal. This story is funny, incredibly sweet, and verrry hot. I鈥檒l definitely read the sequel Heat of Passion, which is Carson鈥檚 story, to find out what happens next with Shelby, Garrett, and Carson. 4 陆 stars

4 stars 鈥� Contemporary Romance/Erotica 鈥� Lady Sings the Blues by Mallery Malone was perhaps the most pleasant surprise for me out of all four stories because I honestly didn鈥檛 expect much, but found it to be extremely sultry and a really sweet interracial romance about former exotic dancer turned club owner Alina 鈥淢iss Scarlet鈥� and blind blues musician Joshua Hanover. They engage in some seriously hot sex, but soon the relationship evolves into something much deeper, and they both have to confront their insecurities and preconceived notions to hold onto the beauty they鈥檝e found in each other. It鈥檚 a very sexy, romantic story about two people learning to open up and trust. 4 stars

Overall, Red-Hot Summer is a satisfying, erotic anthology with four diverse stories, all of which I enjoyed. 4 stars! ...more
