I really really REALLY love Cassandra Clare's writing. It's really descriptive and paints a beautiful picture, also a lot of her dialogue is clever.
This is over the top at times, but I've... warmed to it. There's something weirdly enjoyable about it now, though I really can't pin it.

From the get go I was really interested in seeing what this author created after being inspired by the author Cassandra Clare created through the series. The characters are strong from the start.

I wasn't expecting the story to reach out and grab me but it did. I found myself liking the teenage characters even while the mom in me was going "No, no, no, no, NO!" Let's face it, I'm a fangirl. First the Hunger Games, now The Immortal Instruments. As I said, the story held my attention and kept me wanting more. Then when I got to the last chapters I found myself picking up other books to read because I didn't want this one to end. Definitely worth the read!
