Perfect for rabid dog lovers as this series is told entirely from the dog’s POV. Consequently, you have a very simplistic mystery and rather flat character development as there’s only so much a dog can intuit. It’s lightweight and easy going, perfect for poolside if you want the specter of reading without the heavy lifting. As a mystery, I’ve got a bone to pick, but Chet is a charmer and you’ll be amused by his canine sleuthing.

I only gave this a 3 because, really Chet is "SuperDog" surviving quite a bit of torture. Luckily, the tongue in cheek attitude of the rest of the book makes up for it. Most of the book is from the dog's point of view and it's priceless. Too funny.

Told from Chet's POV which is highly entertaining if a bit erratic.
