A Jane Austen Space Opera? This is exactly what it is. And if you thinks it's impossible, don't be so fast. Joely Sue Burkhart nailed it.
I wouldn't say it's my favorite book or that it changed my life but it's definitely an interesting read with reversed roles. Doctor Charlotte Wyre possess a personality we would usually see in a male character and it's a breath of fresh air.

Okay, so I have no bloody idea how... but Joely Sue Burkhart is an author who mixes things that don't necessarily sound RIGHT, or even GREAT together. but oh my God... Tim Gunn would be proud of the way she MAKES IT WORK!!!

Lovely short read from Ms.Burkhart.
Amazing Lady scientist, Lady Wyre is on the run. Her ex-Queen is hunting her and she is a dangerous opponent. She was saved by Lady Wyre in the past but now she wants her dead.
Lady Wyre is quite resourceful and with the help of her two lovers, she managed to survive. One dark and threatening, the other sweet gentleman, but both of them devoted to her.
