猡� Weirdly, I didn't like this one as much as the others. Trust me, I'm as shocked as you are.

I think it might have something to do with reading completed series vs waiting for the next book. When I have a full series in front of me, I just dive right in. I tear through each book. I often wait to review until I've read them all, and by that point I may have forgotten things that bugged me at the time.

But when I go book-by-book, the little things jump out at me. For instance:

This book is exceptional.

I have been highly anticipating it, and this whole series, after the author's Blood Trials series was my favourite read of last year. A word to the wise: if you liked this series and haven't read Blood Trials, so it immediately!

At the end of the last book poor Andie had been hurt and betrayed and was left devastated. When this book picks up we see Andie try and move on from what has happened, but she is held back from moving on by knowing that there is no future where he This book is exceptional.

At the end of the last book poor Andie had been hurt and betrayed and was left devastated. When this book picks up we see Andie try and move on from what has happened, but she is held back from moving on by knowing that there is no future where her and Sascha can be happy as long as the game exists and there is a winner and a looser.

Cue the main plot of this novel, which is Andie being an absolute intelligent, cunning and brave legend and going all out to get the future she believes they all deserve.

So many things impressed me about this book, but a few stand out. Firstly, I love how Andie wasn't afraid to stand on her own and make personal sacrifices for what she felt was right, knowing she had to be able to live with herself. Had the characterisation not been so masterful, this would have come away as tedious and self sacrificing with a lesser author, but my heart both broke for and applauded Andie several times.

I also love what the author did with Rhona'w character arc. Again, a lesser author would have gone the obvious, tropey path, but I was so impressed and moved by the storyline and how is was presented.

The presentation of friendship was so lovely as well. Wade, Cam and many of the secondary characters really shone as well.

Finally, Andie and Sascha. They were just utterly superb. The romantic and hot highs were coupled with angsty lows, but again, the angst was presented through such excellent characterisation that I didn't eye roll once (highly unusual for me). I even found my self welling up at the end and getting all emotional, also unusual.

In summary, if you javbt read this series, go read Blood Trials and the other two books, then read this from the start. If you've read the first two books, I can't see how you won't adore this as much as I did. ...more

If you鈥檝e read the Vampire Towers series by the same author, much of the 鈥渇eel鈥� of this story (in fact, all three books) is the same. You have a woman (human) who inexplicably finds herself wrapped up in a supernatural world. And, against her wishes, said-human is mated to a very powerful, sexy, territorial supernatural who also happens to be her number 1 adversary.

It鈥檚 an enemies-to-lovers trope, stretched out over 3 books, and I can鈥檛 say that Werewolf Dens was that much better than Vampire To If you鈥檝e read the Vampire Towers series by the same author, much of the 鈥渇eel鈥� of this story (in fact, all three books) is the same. You have a woman (human) who inexplicably finds herself wrapped up in a supernatural world. It鈥檚 an enemies-to-lovers trope, stretched out over 3 books, and I can鈥檛 say that Werewolf Dens was that much better than Vampire Towers. Both series started off strong, but in this series, my interest waned toward the third (final) novel. The Hype was real. Until it wasn鈥檛.

St. Clare mired the plot in a lot of technical jargon about business deals for land ownership and complex game strategy that pulled the focus away from matters of the heart (and...was boring! There! I said it!). Instead of focusing on Sascha鈥檚 wicked cunning and Andie鈥檚 one-two-punch in response, we got pages upon pages of what amounts to a very elaborate paintball match (at least, in my mind). I think there was a way to write about the battles and the negotiations that focused more on the 鈥渨ho鈥� and not on the 鈥渨hat.鈥� When Sascha and Andie DID interact...whooo boy, *fans self.* And so it took a lot of (I imagine) convincing by the author to drive a big enough wedge between two hotties ready to play Super Smash Bros with their were-uglies at every interaction.

All in all (all 3 books...) this is a well-written series, and Booker (in this book) was definitely the cause of many late-night guffaws. She and Greyson need their own little novella, for sure. Would I read this book series again? Probably not. I skimmed most of this book, unfortunately, and couldn鈥檛 find it in myself , as Andie did, to forgive Rhona or Ragna or Herc for their past shittful ways. I never had a moment鈥檚 doubt how or that level-headed-Andie and steadfast Sascha would pull through, which, unfortunately, made for a rather ho-hum read. ...more

I was so excited to read this final book and I am glad to say that not only was I not disappointed but supremely happy. These amazing characters got the send off they deserved with a well rounded fast paced story that had me flipping pages as fast as I could read them. I also loved the vampire cameos!
