Holy crap, this was amazing!!!!!!! I'm kicking my own ass for waiting so long to start this series!!!!!! So many friends have raved over this series and I've put it off. Gah!!! I can't wait to sink my teeth into more of this amazing journey!!

One thing I really appreciate with this book is that it kicks start the story right away. It takes you into the Shade where the vampires live and the sun never rises. Sophie is kidnapped on her seventeenth birthday and taken to Derek Novak, the prince of the vamps, as a part of his harem. Derek, upon seeing Sophie is instantly attracted to Sophie and chooses her and her only, to be his slave.

I love reading about vampires, so i was excited for this too. It sounded quite different from others, revolving around vampires who reside on an island, where sun doesn't shine ever. Sofia is kidnapped and taken there, where she meets prince Derek who has just woken from a long sleep, and if she doesnt impress him, she could become his next meal.

Plot:
