This book was engaging, riveting, and unputdownable! I started it Saturday night and finished it Sunday night…I loved it! For me Hunger Games was a little wanting in areas and this satisfied me in a way that HG didn’t. It is a great introduction to the dystopian genre, I loved the unique story line with the fearscapes…but the jewel of this series is the characters. I can’t wait to see what Insurgent (due out in May 2012) will hold for the characters!

Divergent may be Veronica Roth's first book but this is far from a neophyte YA book. It was captivating, intriguing, brutal, action-packed and violent filled book that would rival the Hunger Games. In my opinion Divergent can even be better than Hunger Games. Its amazing. I actually sympathize and relate more with Tris rather than Katniss. In this book we see Beatrice molded into the strong heroine Tris. The way the author wove it together with her descriptions and narratives made me see the bea

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this Book from the very first word til the very last word. It kept my interest. It was worth the time to Read.
I suggest this Book to people that appreciated "Hunger Games" and those people that want a GREAT read.
I LOVED Four and Beatrice/Tris. I don't want to give "SPOILERS" so I'll just say,"You read the Book, then let me know what you thought of it". I will give the Book "10 Stars".
July-August, 2015 I reread this Book again so I can read Insurgent to refresh myself. ...more

Oh my God. This book. Is. So. Amazing. I love it. So, yes, it was inevitable that I would compare this book to the hunger games so here it goes right off the bat; this book is BETTER than the hunger games. I think so anyway. It is extremely better written, the world is better, the plot is better...it is just awesome. There was no dull moment in this book; it is action packed. The characters are very good, life like, and believable. And the romance is even good and I can't stand romance in these

Not a big fan of dystopian lit. But wanted to read this because of all the hype. Not as good as the hunger games. Characters seemed too one dimensional. Wondered why the five vectors that were chosen all used big words that didn't mean exactly what the group's stood for.
This was the most rated book on my "gotta read it someday" list. Books that I'm curious about but not really looking forward to

I really Like this book. It took me a little bit to get through the foundation of the factions. My new favorite number is four. Read the book and you will see why. A couple blinds sides really caught me off guard, Which I like.
