Full disclosure-I’m not a huge fan of the audiobook narrator, but I wanted to refresh my memory of this story that I read early last year. I won an early copy of the sequel on audiobook, so I needed to get my reread done quickly, and audio was the only way to find the time. I listened to half of it at 1.25x speed and the rest at 1.5x. This one just didn’t hook me for some reason. Possibly because I didn’t like Nahri all that much—her reaction to everything seemed to be “what?! and I have little patience these days for petulant adolescent/emerging adult characters 🤷🏼♀ May still give Kingdom of Copper a try at some point, though.
