Three things to know about this book-
1. There is a dome. The dome was built to protect a special group of people from a nuclear bomb.
2. People that live in the dome are called Pure because they haven't been touched by the outside world after the bomb fell.
3. The world outside the dome is hell.

No idea why this book was on the NYT notable books list for 2012. It's a Margaret Atwood wannabe dystopian novel that feels opportunist in the wake of successful YA series like the Hunger Games and Divergent. I'm not at all tempted to continue the series.

This book was hard to pick up but I stuck with it and it drew me in, layer within layer; now I can't put the series down.
