this was a very personal book for me. I enjoyed the read so much so that I am likely to read this one again.

This book was not an easy read at first. Wainaina's writing is very lyrical. He enjoys playing with words and also enjoys making some up. However, I really enjoyed this book as it progressed, and more so towards the end where his adulthood is captured including his travels across Africa and his problematization of ethnicity and identity.
