Obviously this is a very different kind of story than Valley of the Dolls and was written with a pulpy sci-fi tone that is more fun and fluffy than her dark adult portraits of glamour and romance. This is a pulp science fiction novel that was written in the 1950s but not published until 1979, after the author had died. Pretty goofy and hard to believe, but I just couldn't put the book down. Unintentionally funny, and very entertaining in a "so bad that it's good" kind of way. A guilty pleasure, for sure.
