Re-reading teenage faves is always a dare, but I think Kerouac actually is a better Auteur than he gets credit for. Granted, I didn't notice last time reading this that there obviously is a sub-narrative about being a raving alcoholic, nor did I notice that Dean Moriarty preferably should have been on lithium rather than on the road, but hey, we can't blame Kerouac for MY shortcomings as a teenage beatnik wannabe...

I finally finished this though I had to force myself. Not my favorite book of all times but filled with some interesting parts. I just got so bored of all the driving around doing nothing!
