Terrifyingly good! Ghost hauntings, kids only able to see them and then stop them, great characters. 4.5 stars from me. I think I was a bit scary for younger crowds...including me....but I made it through! So very well written, I enjoyed each step without even wondering why it was taking a while to get to the part that the book is named after; thought that once I got to it. Over all a very solid YA book. It doesn’t feel YA. Yes the characters are young and yes they occasionally do dumb things but overall it felt like an adult novel just with kids as the lead.
I had previously watched the Netflix show so I was hoping this could fill in some gaps and it did not disappoint. I think the Netflix series did a great job staying true to the source material and this did a great job filling in the gaps of knowledge.
