Before I began this book, I didn't really know what to expect, but everyone seemed to love it so I thought that I should give it a try.

I rate this a solid 4.5 stars. I'm still trying to figure out if I should round up or down, but for now I'm sticking with 4. Especially since I have so much to look forward to. *rubs hands together with glee*

I'm starting to believe this series is an M/M cult classic. There's a diehard group of fans who LOVE it, PIMP it and give a real taste of what one can expect from it, but there's just as many people who are saying "Meh, I didn't get into it." It's the My So Called Life of M/M. (That was possibly the worst analogy ever :>). Before I read, I always look at reviews. When it comes to a long series, I want to know what to expect! I do the exact same thing with TV shows. This book scared me. I almost didn't read it because of some of the reviews, but in the end I'm glad that I did.

Sin and Boyd are a dysfunctional match made in post-apocolyptic heaven, and their ups and downs had me on the edge of my seat for a week. Neither of them are perfect but they fit together so well. I've gone stalker-status after putting this book down and stumbled upon a write-up by the authors where they said that Sin and Boyd weren't even the original protagonists of ICoS! I couldn't believe it. How could these two be an ACCIDENT?

SO much has been said on this book that I won't go into depth here, but I will say that I recommend it 500% over. I've seen a lot of people compare it to TA but the only similarity I see is the setting and the dystopic themes of government control. I love both series (so far!), but I find them very different. I feel like these characters are old friends that I root for while the characters in TA are scary and I watch with morbid fascination from between spread fingers. The writing here is sprawling and detailed (I know a lot of people say the writing is lacking in Evenfall, but it's actually quite GOOD for an unedited piece of work) while in TA it's tight and getting a lot across with very little. Both are worth it but for different reasons.

And if you finish this book and don't fall in love with Sin's sarcasm and deeply hidden vulnerability, or you don't find Boyd's determination and dorky analysis of everything endearing. . .keep reading anyway! I heard it gets better. :> ...more

This story is just a monster!! It is so loonnnggg and i must admit that i had to skipped some parts. It is definitely not a story where the protagonist meet each other and are in bed two sentences letter. To get these two together is hard and angsty and really slow. But when they get together... just wow... fireworks. And then... some more angst but you get so engrossed in the story that you don't care.

It鈥檚 been a couple of years since I first stumbled upon this book/series and I can honestly say that it is still one of my favorite works.

Not only is the whole series free to read, it is also an amazing piece of fiction that had me on the edge of my seat. Dark, complex, intriguing, and mind-blowing 鈥� these are just some of the words I associate with this amazing read.
