What Members Thought

Oh man another emotional rollercoaster. So far Fitz and the Fool is a very slow paced, emotion focussed series. Cry worthy things happen, lots of despair and Fitz struggling with himself. Always Fitz struggling with himself really, he blames himself for everything. Everythng is intense and you just hope things can be set straight.

It pains me that this is the first of the Robin Hobb books I've read to give it a 3 star raiting.
The problem with this book is that everything is getting wrapped up but the way it's getting wrapped up feels rushed. Characters are doing things they wouldn't normally do, saying things they wouldn't normally say and acting in ways they don't normally act.
I love the Fool. I do. However this ENTIRE book was him whining, bitching, and moaning. I made me dislike him a bit. It wasn't until after they st ...more

Beloved,
I write this review out of love and strangely sadness. I will give out no real details of what is in.
My favorite ending to a book was fool's fate where it ends with "I am content." I was sad to see the end of the series with some of my favorite characters but i was happy.
Then came Fool's Assassin and with great fear and trepidation I read it. How can you take something so perfect and continue it. Yet I devoured the book whole. I loved it the words flowed my favorite characters were there ...more

I'll try to write a better review when it gets closer to the release date.
The previous book was frustrating and disappointing, and I kept hesitating between 2-3-4 stars, but this one is so much better. Sure, some part were a bit corny, and other parts were a bit slow (although not boring), and I wished for more character interactions, but I enjoyed my time so much that there's very little I would actually change.

Fool's Quest was my most anticipated read of 2015. Something about the complexity and messiness of being in Fitz's head speaks strongly to me. While I loved the early scenes with Fitz and the Fool, it felt like they were unnecessarily long as it took FOREVER to get all the characters to the same level of knowledge as the reader ((view spoiler) ). But the last third of the book was everything I lov

Okay, I dithered between 3 and 4 stars, but then settled on 4 just because I really enjoyed the story lines of the Realm of the Elderlings coming togehter i.e. Fitz and the dragons. Also because after a 2-star start in Fool's Assassin, this book really picked up the plot, pace and the writing is just so much better.
Fitz oh Fitz, you are still the most whining character ever, although you have some redeeming qualities still. :P
Really looking forward to the finale, hope it lives up to expectations ...more

NOOOOOOOO. I can't believe it's over. I can't believe I didn't wait until the third one was written to read the second, because now I have to wait who knows how long for the next one and I can't handle it OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
I drew it out for as long as I could but now it's finished and WTAF will replace it? Oh dear. ...more
