I've frequently read and been told that this is the book where the Wheel of Time series really starts to slow down. That's funny, because it's the first one that I felt had a steady pacing in which stuff actually happens at regular intervals. Of course, that's not exactly glowing praise either, but I definitely enjoyed all the storylines in this volume more than I have in previous ones.
