Another lovely story by Jacqueline Winspear. In this one, Maisie goes undercover as a philosophy lecturer at a college, and while looking in to one subject, finds herself involved in a second mystery. Plus, mysteries at home: her former coworker/employee, and her beau; and attempts to convince both her father and her other employee to let her help them find better living arrangements.

Just finished book eight, and love every one in the series. The story flows from book to book, but if you jump in the middle, at no time do you feel lost.

The Maisie Dobbs series continues to build toward the eventuality of WWII Europe. The books continue to be wonderful period mysteries with a terrific, competent heroine.
Another great one by Winspears - I just love reading about her England - this time period (the 1930's)is becoming scarier when you bring in Adolf Hitler - you feel like you are reading historical fiction - can't wait for her next book!
