Holy smokes! What a vivid and telling perspective on the expectations placed on mothers in US society. First time and brand new parents, do not read this - it will scare the shit out of you.
Told from the perspective of Frida, who had one "very bad day," she ends up in a state-mandated school to rehabilitate mothers to learn to be "good." Thought provoking and infuriating. I couldn’t put this down. I still keep thinking about this book so I'm bumping my rating up to 4 stars. That's what good books do--they make you think. Even if I had heart palpitations due to the injustice of it all, it made me FEEL and think.
