Holy smokes! What a vivid and telling perspective on the expectations placed on mothers in US society. First time and brand new parents, do not read this - it will scare the shit out of you.

Thought provoking and infuriating. I couldn’t put this down. I still keep thinking about this book so I'm bumping my rating up to 4 stars. That's what good books do--they make you think. Even if I had heart palpitations due to the injustice of it all, it made me FEEL and think.

This is a dystopian novel and what might happen to parents who get charged with abuse or neglect. It reflects on what it takes to be a good mother and how to become a better mother. It was definitely hard to put down.
