it is the reign of the twenty-fifth monarch of leiyun. after eight hundred years of relative stability as an isolated kingdom hidden behind a magical barrier, they have made the decision to reintroduce themselves into the world �� slowly, carefully, by trade and diplomacy, and without opening the border. but the parliament believe that their ruler has made a mistake, and that the rest of the world will stop at nothing to get their hands on the magic and technology of leiyun if they learn of its existence. political tensions in the capital are beginning to reverberate through the south, and the nobility gather to plot their schemes. meanwhile, the heir gathers magicians and gunslingers by their side, ready to protect their kingdom at any cost.

ravenwood, massachusetts : a small town with many secrets �� and one of them is magic. founded in 1692 as a refuge for those with extraordinary powers who were at risk of persecution in salem, the town has since become a haven for all those who can't fit into the non-supernatural world. and naturally, children came, unable to properly control their abilities. thus, ravenwood academy was founded, a school unlike any other. the gates are high, the tree-lined boundary wall sturdy, and the guards well-trained.
here, they can learn safely, without fear of persecution or accidental injury. there is no pressure to attain perfect grades, nor to succeed �� the town will support them irrespective of their own talents. they are not kept here against their will, and nobody will stop them if they choose to leave.

( the biggest question anyone has, most of the time, is how the school manages to take up so much space from inside, yet on the outside spans only a few square kilometres. simply put, the school is like a pocket of reality that can be extended as necessary )

      officially opened on the first of january 2101, the international space academy ( insa ) is home to over five hundred students and teachers, with state-of-the-art facilities designed by some of the greatest engineers and architects in the solar system.
at insa, there are three sectors, each dedicated to their purpose. there is collins, the exploration sector, named after the third member of the apollo eleven crew, and possessing some of the greatest star pilots of all time. there is stephenson, the design sector, named after the man who invented the steam train, with the cleverest engineers and architects of their generation. and finally, there is sun, the defence sector, named after the famous author of 'the art of war', boasting the largest student body.
