Eve will never be a woman comfortable with expressing emotion the way Roarke is, but he’s adept at decoding her comments on food, sex and coffee. Beginning with Eve’s “private moment� with Roarke’s real coffee in Naked in Death, she’s at ease expressing her delight in what Roarke’s money can buy food-wise. And, well, for these two, the sex is a given.

Eve was used to shocks. But this was a doozy. It was a bit more than credulity could bear to see a table directly under a cock swinger crowded by Nadine Furst, Peabody, a woman who she thought was probably Trina, and, dear God Almighty, Dr. Mira.
As the series goes on, it’s amazing to see such a loner by nature acquire a family of friends. This scene is probably the first one where her Smart Girl group is together � even if everyone is drunk. And her bemusement that they all got along makes for an engaging, girl power scene.
