Sian turned her head to see � oh, how incredible � Trillin’s mouth had actually moved around her head. No need to turn around or anything; just send your mouth a bit closer to the other person’s ears. Marvellous.
The tentacle-hand over her eyes changed texture. Tiny fronds ventured out, exploring more of her face. Sian held her breath. Trillin’s touch was tentative, shy, and the most incredible thing she’d ever experienced.
“I won’t eat you.� Trillin’s voice was so sincere, so earnest, that Sian had to bite back a burst of giggles. “I know how to, now, but I won’t. I want you to know that.� “I think that’s the most romantic thing anyone’s ever told me.�
