I kept thinking I had it figured out, and yeah, I was on the right course, but man, I still didn't have it all completely right. It was very well written and pulled me in from the very first page. It was told from several POV's and also switched from past to present. I love when books are done this way because you get the puzzle pieces little by little and suddenly its a race to the end because you need to KNOW how it all fits.
I really enjoyed this one. A great and well done thriller....more

This quote was stuck in my head while reading Reminders of Him. Colleen Hoover did such an amazing job at showing us that people are more than what we see on the surface. First impressions are so often wrong, and we never quite see the full view of someone until we delve deeper into friendship and acceptance.
So often we let others paint a picture with rumors and falsities rather than getting to know someone ourselves. There's almost always a completely different person underneath the mask, and a completely different story than the one we've made up in our heads. We just have to be brave enough to let go of our own preconceived notions.

She is insane"Lessons in Sin" is the second book I've read by Pam Godwin and I'm really kicking myself for not having read more of her books already. She is insanely good at what she does. This story was on fire. Steamy, hot, taboo in all the best ways. The writing was phenomenal. The characters were fantastic. Father Magnus was every girl's wet dream. Not even trying to be gross here, just honest. Tinsley was funny, smart, strong, and not to mention just straight adorable. I always love a girl with sarcasm and great comebacks. Together they created a fire that could consume the world. I loved this so much. I really, really have to read everything Pam Godwin has written. Like NOW. Do yourself a favor and grab this one. Nesta's story was so much more than I expected. I HATED her. I think we all hated her up until this point. Now I understand her. I see myself in her. Her journey is completely worth the read.
“She had been born wrong. Had been born with claws and fangs and had never been able to keep from using them.
We all have thorns. Some of us barricade ourselves within them more than others and I relate. so. hard. to. Nesta. Seeing her overcome HERSELF was such a beautiful thing.
I loved the action and the character development. The ending had me so on edge. I WAS SWEATING. Ugh. So good. I love this world and these characters. I was so ecstatic to be immersed in it once more. I can't wait for the next installment....more

In "Fable of Happiness," professional climber, Gemma goes on a hunt for a secluded rock formation to climb and record for her successful YouTube channel. She winds up lost and unknowingly trespassing on land that houses a feral man who hasn't seen society in over a decade. Kas refuses to let her go out of fear that she'll bring outsiders to his home.
Pepper Winters has such a way with writing that when I start reading her words I become so sucked in that I forget I'm alive in the real world and not actually inside the story she's painting. That did happen with this book in lots of places but it soon became sort of drawn out and repetitive for me. In the past I've felt that some of Pepper's series' didn't need to be stretched out into several books. I think the same applies here. While there was steamy chemistry and all, there just wasn't much happening. I'm hoping for more in the books to come. ...more
