It's still a good book, but I wanted to fall in love with it and I only liked it.
We are introduced to Taylor who loves basketball. Basketball is her life. Demands are placed very highly on her. Her father expects a lot out of her. He runs plays with her, he runs miles with her, he wants her to succeed in all the ways he couldn't.
Taylor's life is basketball, basketball, basketball. Yes, she still has a personal life but that also pretty much includes basketball. In Head Games, there is a lot of team talk, there is a lot of relationship drama, there is a lot of spunk.
Not only is Taylor interested in basketball, she is also interested in boys. First, there is Zach. He's popular, hot, all the girls want him, and all of a sudden he has dumped his girlfriend Kylie (who happens to be a teammate of Taylor's) and takes an interest in Taylor. Than there is Matt, who is dating Taylor's best friends sister. Matt is new to the school, and a lot of mystery surrounds him.
I always liked basketball growing up, so I understood her love for it. I understood all the pressure.
Now lets talk about the boys... I never felt a real connection to either of them. I never liked Zach and even Matt, I never really fell for him. If I had to choose, I'd choose Matt. I felt like neither of them were good enough for Taylor.
The one thing that did bug me was that Taylor was a doormat. She was too nice for her own good. She would brush things off that shouldn't have been brushed off.
Head games was a fun read but didn't wow me. I liked it but I wanted to be blown away by it which I wasn’t.
Overall: I really liked it but it wasn't as great as I hoped. Hopefully Stealing Bases does wow me. We shall see. I liked the writing style and the book as a whole. I think the story just didn't live up to my hopes. I wanted this to be a 5 cupcake book for me. More like a 3.5 book!
Cover: Like it. I like all the people in the background shooting hops. I also like how she is sitting on the basketball.

My Thoughts: This isn't a bad novel, its just not my kind of novel that I would usually readMore like a 3.5 cupcake book for me! ..................... My Thoughts: This isn't a bad novel, its just not my kind of novel that I would usually read. I'm more into young adult romance or paranormal novels. I don't read many about survival.
The Raft starts off with Robie visiting her aunt. Robie is only 15 years old. Her aunt gets called away so Robie is left alone for a few days. She gets bored and decides to go on home so she books a flight and starts on her journey home.
She doesn't make it very far because the plan goes down and she's thrown out the window on a raft by Co-pilot Max. Max also gets out and spends most of the novel in a dream like state. He does wake up a few times but mostly this novel is about Robie surviving on her own and coping with what that entails. The raft leaks, she's starving, she's cold, she's dehydrated.
Does Robie and Max get saved? How does this one end? Read the book to find out.
Overall: This was just ok for me. Like I said, not something I would normally give a chance so to get 3 cupcakes out of me was decent. It might even rate up there with a 3.5 rating. If you like books based on survival or based solely out on the water, you'll probably like this one a lot more than me. It was an ok novel, just not one of my favorites of the year. I did read the whole thing and it kept my attention enough, just won't go on my favorite shelf. I’m anxious to see other’s reviews on this one, as I’m sure some will adore it!
Cover: Like it. Represents the book accurately since most of the novel is spent on a raft.

My Thoughts: I was really looking forward to this novel when it was under a different name and a different release date. Finally, I found out that it My Thoughts: I was really looking forward to this novel when it was under a different name and a different release date. Finally, I found out that it came out in paperback and they changed the name and the summary.
So I went right out and bought it and dived right in. We are introduced to Connor and his best friend Josh. Josh has a sister named Peyton. She is a year younger and Connor has always known her. Josh and Connor are participating in Senior Assassin and the prize money is 2,000 dollars. Split between the two of them, Connor is really looking forward to that 1,000 dollars.
Of course, another girl is interested in Connor and he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings so Josh suggests he use Peyton as an excuse but Connor doesn’t want to do that. Yes, he is kind of a jock but he’s actually really smart too. He’s got it all, good looks, funny personality, and a brain.
Connor starts to actually like Peyton and that is where the fun begins. Josh putting that idea in his head, he starts to look at Peyton in a new different light. As Senior Assassin is taking place, Connor finds himself wondering more and more about Peyton and if he could really be with her.
I’ll stop there. Shot Through The Heart was a good light funny romantic novel. There wasn’t a whole lot of depth to it. Yes, we find out how smart some of the characters really are, but there isn’t a whole lot of reasoning behind some of their actions. This novel is met to just be pure fun with a few lessons thrown in. I thought I would love it a little more, I thought it would be a 5 cupcake novel, but it fell a little short for me. It was still a good novel, just not as great as I had hyped up in my mind.
Overall: Is it worth a read? Yes. And, if you like the Simon Pulse romantic comedies, you’ll probably enjoy this one. If you like fun reads, you’ll probably like this one. I’m probably a little biased here, because back when it went on sale at Barnes And Noble, I saw a different summary for it so I was thinking the story was going to be a little different and go a different way. Did I still enjoy it? Yes!
Cover: Honestly, I don’t really like it. He’s clothes don’t really suggest teenager, they aren’t really stylish.

We start off the book being introduced to Annie Nutter, who has a brother, a mother and an inventor father. He is always brainstorming some idea and trying something new out. While shopping one day, Annie's mom finds a magazine with an article about an ex boyfriend. He is pretty wealthy, she starts to wonder what her life would be like if she had married the other man.
One day, Annie is messing with her dad's newest invention and she gets sucked into another universe. She wakes up to find herself as the other guy’s daughter. What does that mean? It means she has a new father a new brother, a big house, the whole works. It also means she has new best friends, and an actual boyfriend. She's not a nobody anymore, she's actually popular! Her name isn't Annie anymore either, its now Ayla.
To me, she will always be Annie though. Annie tries to fit in and stay up to date on being popular, even if this means changing her personality and trying to be "cool."
We get to experience Annie's new life as Ayla, and all the change she has to go through. She has to do whats right for her regarding her new family, new friends, and new boyfriend.
She also meets a boy who isn't who he seems. Annie instantly clicks with him and becomes his friend. She learns some deep dark secrets about him. To everyone else, he's not popular at all, he's homeless, he's a loser.
Annie has to evaluate her priorities and decide to do whats right. Does she want to keep Ayla's life or go back to her own? Does she want to go from being popular to a nobody again?
Overall: Don't You Wish was a fun cute read. Yes, it had life lessons throughout the book but it was also funny and enjoyable. Can you imagine going in and taking over a stranger’s life? Read this book and than you can say you have done it! I really enjoyed reading this one and once I started I couldn't stop!
Cover: Love it Love her sunglasses, very catching! Also love the colors and the way its faded out.

She doesn't take crap from other people. She's also in charge of the school newspaper. Her arch nememis is also the co-editor of the newspaper, opposite her. His name is Jimmy Foster, and you can tell from the first page, they have a past together. We don't know what or why but for some reason they can't stand each other.
The newspaper staff have to try to raise money, so ideas flow throughout the classroom. They finally settle on a calandar, but the suggestion is she go on 12 blind dates with each month's calandar and than write up an expose at the end. She agrees to it barely. Layney doesn't date high school boys...ever.... so this is a challenge for her.
I enjoyed watching each and every date. I loved seeing how different the guys were and how she could relate to them. You can definately tell these charactesr are teenagers, they definately acted like it.
I also enjoyed learning more about Jimmy Foster.
So Over You is a fluff read. It's one of those books you pick up in between two other books to settle you over for a while, or when your in the need to just sit and eat junk food and read something sweet.
Overall: Liked it but didn't love it. I did enjoy watching all the guys either put the moves on her, or not be interested in her. Some of them wanted a second date, some didn't. I am also glad we learned why Layney doesn't date and what her actual problem is. I liked her relationship (or fighting relationship) with Foster.
So Over You was a cute and light read. Perfect for a rainy day or a short day on the beach. It could be either.
Cover: It's neat. I like the pink on the cover, and the way she is holding a heart.

We are back with Viola and she is finally back home. She's away from boarding school, back with her best friend, her best guy friend, and her parents. She always comes home to find out her family has people staying in her guest house. A father and his teenage son.
Does this mean Viola will get a new boyfriend? Nope.. But someone else will!
I liked Andrew even more in this book. He finally takes some chances and expresses his feelings for Viola. Was this good? Yes, and No. It didn't turn out like I wanted it too and that bugged me.
This is another installment in the Viola series and I'll probably read the next one but I most likely won't love it either.
Overall: LIked it, just didn't like it much more than average.
Cover: Like it! At first I thought it was a girl and a guy on the cover, but I'm pretty sure its two girls. LOL.

I was so excited to dive right into Partials. We are introduced to Kira Walker, and her friends. She has a bunch of them but I just wanted to talk about a few who stood out the most for me.
First there is Madison who is Kira's best friend. Than there is Jayden who is Madison's brother. Next up is Marcus who is Kira's boyfriend. There is also Samm, but we don't meet him for a while. Of course, throughout the novel we meet a lot of interesting characters.
The book starts out telling us about the world and what has happened. Kira works in the maternity ward but soon gets transferred to research. This is a world where a weaponized virus has taken hold and people have died. This is because of the Partials. They created the RM and the deadly virus is everywhere. No baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade.
All girls must give birth by the age of 18 but soon Kira is torn because the age is dropped to 16. She is 16 and she knows she's not ready to have a baby just to have the baby die.
Kira is one smart cookie. She is motivated and she decides she will be the one to cure this virus. She will set things right and make sure babies start to survive. If she doesn't than the world will eventually end because everyone will die. If there is no way to reproduce, all human life will seize to exist.
Big shoes to fill right? Kira sets out to go into unknown territory and capture a Partial. This is where she meets Samm. With the helps of her friends, they bring him back and she gets to study him. He's a partial. He can communicate with other partials, they all are linked together. He seems so much like a human.
Kira starts to really bond with him and thinks of him as more than a monster. But of course the Senate won't have this and they plan to kill him once she's done experimenting on him.
All Kira wants is to find the cure, to make the world go on.
But Samm isn't who she thought he was, and she isn't the person she thought herself to be. Things are changing, and changing fast. Will Kira live long enough to find the cure? Will she be forced into pregnancy and will her life will change all at once? Will the world end with no cure?
Kira is at a battle with herself, her feelings for Marcus, she loves him but can he really ever love her for the person she is?
Partials was a brilliantly crafted book. I loved it. Never a dull moment, always something going on. I loved all the characters, they added spice to it.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I'm so pumped up for it. I can't wait until it releases, at least I hope there is another one!
Overall: Partials was a wonderful novel! I loved the world Wells introduced us too, I loved the plot. I loved the way Samm came off. He was different but in a good way. I loved how smart and dedicated Kira was. She would do anything for her friends, and to find a cure to save Madison's baby.
I loved the relationship with each one of her friends from her boyfriend Marcus to the Partial Samm. Kira was a special girl, caring and secure.
Basically, Partials is definitely a book you should check out soon! I thought it was amazing!
Cover: Love it! It fits so well. I love how we can only see her back and she is looking towards the city. The buildings, the open road, love this cover!

Digit: She's Got Your Number was an amazing special book. It really pulled on my heartstrings and I loved every minute of it.
We're introduced to Digit aka Farrah Higgins whose extremely smart when it comes to numbers. She's a math whiz, she can figure out any kind of equation, number sequence, and anything math related. Genius! One day Digit is watching her favorite show, and numbers flash across the screen. This happens during a few shows so she starts to get suspicious and after an attack on the JFK Airport, she goes to the FBI. She thinks she has figured out a mysterious terrorist attack.
After they brush her off, she starts looking into it herself and winds up in a bit of trouble. On the run from criminals who want to kill her, she must face the FBI again.
Finally, they take her seriously and send her to a safe house, with hot FBI agent John! John is only a few years older than Digit and she finds herself becoming more and more attracted to him. It doesn't hurt that he's always very motivated and doesn't think her fascination with numbers is weird.
John and Digit must figure out what is really going on, who they can trust, and what to do about it. John must keep her safe at all costs.
Digit was adorable! This whole book was so cute! Yes, it had an actual plot and it was interesting but the chemistry between John and Digit was heartwarming and sweet like hot chocolate on a cold winter day. Digit was exactly my type of contemporary romance. If you liked Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols, you'll probably like this one. Or at least this book brought back memories of that book for me. It was such a sweet story!!!
Digit was such a lovable character. Her personality was so alert and she was self conscious about her math abilities, but if anything that made me like and appreciate her more. And John, awwww swoonworthy!
Overall: Digit was ADORABLE! Its under 200 pages but I wanted it to be longer. I was sad to see the story end because I wanted to keep on reading this novel.
Cover: Love it! Love how her hair is wild, and she's putting her fingers up to her lips like its a secret! Cute cover.

In Obsidian, we meet Katy who just moved to a small town from Florida. She was never a party girl but she really does want to make a few new friends, so she isn't all alone all the time.
Within a few days of living in her new home, she meets the neighbors. They are two kids about her age. His name is Daemon and her name is Dee and they are fraternal twins. Dee and Katy instantly spark up a friendship. They like hanging out with each other. From the get go, Daemon hates Katy. He's rude to her, he's a smart ass. Even if he is a hot smart ass. Katy is infuriated with him.
Most of the book we spend wanting Katy and Daemon to just hook up already. They are sooo attracted to each other, it's so obvious. This is that sexual chemistry people talk about.
By the middle of the book, we find out more about Dee and Daemon and find out they aren't exactly normal. They are far from it. They are aliens! Aliens living right in the backyard! Aliens on our planet, and the government knows about them, WHAT??
The world building was quite nice and descriptive, I liked knowing more about where they came from and who they really were, and what they were capable of.
Katy is pretty good about accepting the fact they are aliens. It really doesn't bug her, too much. She just hates that Daemon is so arrogant and he runs so up and down/hot and cold. It's really starting to drive her crazy.
With all of Daemons and Dee's talents, Katy is left with something like an imprint on her. Alien hunters (this is the simple version of what they are called LOL) are after them and want to kill anything in their path, just to get to Daemon and Dee so most of the book Katy is also in danger.
Obsidian was an enjoyable read. It was fun, and I liked all the hotness between Katy and Daemon. It was also very easy to like Dee and want a friend like her.
I also have to mention this. Katy is a book blogger! Whohooooo!! She does Meme's and Vlogs! I loved this! Come on, book bloggers like myself, wasn't this freaking cool? I think so!
Overall: I thought Obsidian was a wonderful book and I can't wait to read Jennifer's other novels. I hear Half Blood is just as good, it's now on my TBR pile!
Cover: It's pretty smooth! Isn't that guy a cutie? Yes, he is! But the girl is too pretty to be considered "a normal looking human." LOL

As I started it, I got the feeling it was going to be a creepy novel that I might think was weird. Boy, was I right! We are introduced to Leena who will be living in the Frost House. Basically, it's just another building on campus at her boarding school.
Leena moves into her new room at Frost House, very excited to be living there. It was her idea that her friends live there. It used to be an all boys dorm, but it was finally allowed to have girls! She's so psyched about it! She gets there and finds out she has a roommate she knows from a class last year. She wasn't supposed to have a roommate this semester. But Celeste broke her leg so Leena is stuck with her. The only bright side: Celeste's super hot brother David, who always seems to be lurking around.
Leena actually starts to enjoy David's company and becomes his friend. He's very very protective of Celeste though, which was a bit odd at times.
As things start to happen at Frost House, Celeste thinks someone is after her. Things happen in their room which can't be explained.
Soon Leena is starting to wonder if Celeste is either right, or just crazy. There are rumors that a girl lived there years ago and the place is haunted.
I can't say much else or I'll give major spoilers away. I was a bit surprised about the ending. Not what I expected at all. I can see some people really liking this, like me, and others really not liking it. It just depends on your taste in paranormal stories.
Frost was a great debut and it held my interest all the way through. It was a bit long though. It could have been 50-75 pages less and it wouldn't have taken much from the story probably. But I still enjoyed reading it and I really liked Leena's voice.
Overall: Liked it a lot. Leena had a very strong and distinguished voice. David was a great character. I loved all her relationships with her friends and just how close they were. I felt like I belonged with them. Overall, this is a debut you should read.
Cover: It's even kind of creepy. I love the house in the background. Matches the book perfectly!

We are introduced to Emma, average 18 year old high school student. Lives with her mother, father died a few years ago. We start off with Emma and her friend Chloe at the beach where she runs (literally) into a boy named Galen. He is a very handsome boy.
Emma suffers a great tragedy that day that really brings her down.
She decides to attend classes a few days later and guess who ends up being in all of her classes, yes, Galen.
Emma and Galen become close and she gets introduced to his sister and her mate, and a few of his friends.
A lot of things are happening to Emma. She can breathe underwater for a long time, she has thick skin, and just doesn't seem to be very "normal."
On their quest to find out the truth, Emma and Galen discover they have more of a connection than they would have ever thought possible. But they can't ever really do anything about it because she's promised to another.
Honestly, I didn't know what I would think going into Of Poseidon. Mermaid books are either a hit or miss with me. This novel is clearly something magical. The voice is believeable, Emma is a lovable character and Galen is a handsome snarky character.
Of Poseidon had a beautiful vibe to it. Just something about it while reading it that felt magical to me. Maybe it was all the fishes swimming around, or even the Titantic reference. I'm not sure exactly what it was but I loved every minute of it. And the cliffhanger, yep I'm hooked and I need the next book now.
Of Poseidon is a fantastic, magical novel filled with sea creatures, mystery, and love.
Overall: If you can't tell from above, I loved it! Please please do yourself a favor and read this novel as soon as possible. You won't regret it! Awesome novel!
Cover: Adore it! Love all the blue coloring and how she's swimming underwater!

As for me, it was very interesting to read this one. First off, there is the prophet, he is a big character in Struck, he directs a lot of people on believing the world will end by a massive storm. After the earthquake that happened, people believe him. They want something to believe in, they want to be saved, they want to know they have purpose and will be saved.
Than there is Mia Price and her family. Mia is basically a human lightning rod. She's been struck many times and can feel when a storm is coming. She has scars all over her body from being struck. Even her hands are scared, so she wears black gloves everyday.
Mia is strong willed. She wants to do the right thing, but being hit by lightning has forced her into some unfortunate situations. You know the drill, standing next to someone who gets hit by lightning doesn't do well for that person either. Mia has hurt other people, but not on purpose so that counts right?
Mia also has a brother and a mother she lives with. Her mother believes the prophet and devotes all of her time watching him on tv. He's basically brain washed her and we notice this from the start.
Than there are the followers and the seekers. Each group has their own agenda and what they plan to do. Both want to recruit Mia to join them. They both want to "use" her in their own way. She meets some interesting characters along the way including Katrina.
Next up, is the other main character. Jeremy. Oh man, I really liked Jeremy from the first minute I met him. Nightmare boy. He creeps into Mia's life in a hurry and tries to earn her trust. He can also see visions of the future. There was something about him from the beginning that I liked. He never scared me. I trusted him so quickly. Jeremy and Mia's relationship (or lack of one for most of the book) was pretty neat. They way they really connected.
Struck was a fantastic debut. If you haven't added this one to your reading list this year please do it! I know there are a lot of post apocalyptic novels coming out soon but this is one that you must read! I loved every minute of it!
Struck was fascinating, and had such an amazing concept. I haven't read any other books regarding lightning and this was so interesting!
Overall: Such fantastic characters, such an amazing plot, the writing was easy to follow along with and easy to connect with. Bosworth sure does know how to captivate our attention and keep it for hours on end.

We are introduced to Avery, who is very motivated. She gets straight A's, wants to go on a trip to Costa Rica. Problem, she needs more money. She has some saved but not nearly enough. So when her ex best friend Hannah from years ago, offers her 500 dollars to steal Hannah's boyfriend, she jumps right on it. That's 500 more dollars toward her trip fund. She would be foolish to say no. Its not like her job selling hot dogs and dressing up as one is paying the bills well enough.
She starts to hang out with Zac (Hannah's boyfriend) because she gets paired with him on a project. Simple enough to steal him, right? I mean she already has to be around him. Things don't go as planned as Avery starts to actually think he's a nice guy and why would Hannah even want rid of him? Of course, things aren't always what they seem and its not like Zac and Avery are a match made in heaven either. There is a lot of drama in this book between lots of different people. There are also laughs, jokes, cute moments, etc.
That is basically the story, I'm not going to say anything else. My Boyfriend Thief was really creative, and it was a sweet contemporary young adult novel. If your looking for something light and cute than read this now! Yes, there are a few lessons to be learned here, but mostly it is for fun and enjoyment. Moments to make you go awwwww.
Overall: Really liked it a lot. Don’t read too many e-books so this was a nice change.

My Thoughts: I've only read a few books by Sarah Dessen but I have loved them all. So I was very excited to pick up Keeping The Moon.
We are introducedMy Thoughts: I've only read a few books by Sarah Dessen but I have loved them all. So I was very excited to pick up Keeping The Moon.
We are introduced to Colie whose mom is a known health nut/aerobics instructor. Both Kiki and her daughter Colie have went from being overweight to shedding some pounds.
Colie is a cool girl. She has a lip ring and newly black hair. While her mom goes out of the country, Colie gets shipped off to stay with her aunt Mira for the summer in North Carolina. Colie doesn't know what she's really in for. She gets to Mira's and finds her aunt is a little out there. Colie has to learn to adapt to her aunt's ways and take it in stride. Mira even labels everything, especially if its broken.
Colie also meets two new friends. She isn't used to having friends since she didn't have any back home. Their names are Morgan and Isabel and she gets a job at a local bar and grill called Last Chance with them. It's something to do she figures. She also meets a boy named Norman who has his flaws but is also a great guy. He's a painter and has went against his father's wishes and just wants to paint. Colie even gets herself a portrait done. He's an interesting guy, especially his fascination with sunglasses.
Colie discovers so much about herself through this novel. She really begins to accept herself for who she is and to not let what others think of her mean so much.
Keeping The Moon was another Sarah Dessen novel I really enjoyed. I didn't love it quite as much as others but it was still a great book. I loved all the characters. I loved her friendships, and her relationship with her aunt. She really started to care about her and what happens to her. When everyone talks about Mira, Colie wants to pipe up and tell them off. She starts to really gain independence and becomes her own person.
Keeping The Moon didn't have too much romance in it (it had some, but usually the books I read are filled with romance) but it had enough of other details going on, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Overall: I really liked it. The characters were real, the storyline was real, I could see this all really happening. Dessen has a way with words and she makes you feel like you are really the main character.
Cover: It's too plain for my taste. Yes, the sunglasses are a nice touch but it could have been much better.

My Thoughts: In Playing With The Boys, we are introduced to Lucy. Lucy lives with her father and is forced to move to Los Angeles. She lost her motherMy Thoughts: In Playing With The Boys, we are introduced to Lucy. Lucy lives with her father and is forced to move to Los Angeles. She lost her mother and her father wants to get away from all the memories so he drags Lucy across the country.
Lucy has to make new friends, go to a new school, and basically learn how to be a California girl, which is harder than you would think.
On her first day of school she meets a boy named Benji. She and Benji become good friends. Then there is another boy who she has a crush on.
Oh I guess I'm forgetting something here. Lucy tries out for the soccer team. She's good at soccer and figures this is a way to meet friends. But she doesn't make the team so instead she tries out for the Football team and she does make that one.
Her father forbids her from playing because its too dangerous but Lucy plays anyways.
Playing With The Boys was a fun read, but not too deep. None of the characters really clicked with me the way I wanted. I still enjoyed reading it but if your looking for a football themed book, you might also want to try Catching Jordan.
Overall: Liked it quite a bit but didn't love it. It was a quick read though so I finished it in one sitting.
Cover: Like it, but mostly I like the football players legs in the background. They add a certain spunk!

Sure, it has an interesting plot line (reminds me of Dead Like Me tv show) and it sounds like it could have a little bit of romance on top of the interesting plot line.
To sum it up, Lex gets shipped off to her uncle’s house thinking it’s going to be a boring uneventful summer. Boy, is she wrong! Not what she was expecting at all.
First, lets talk a little about the characters. First, there is Lex. Lex is going through a rebellious stage, always getting into trouble unlike her perfect sister. Lex is just going through a bit of a stage where she doesn’t really care about much anymore.
Next, there is her uncle Mort. Mort kind of came off as creepy at first. I wasn’t sure what to think about him, but after a while he’s easy to warm up too. He has a bit of the same personality as Lex.
Than there is Driggs. Driggs was such a fun character. Between his constant bickering with Lex, he sure is a riot to have around. He was probably my favorite out of the whole book. There are also a lot of other characters throughout the book including all of the other Junior Grim Reapers. Each one has his/her own story and contributes to the novel in some way.
Croak was a different kind of story for me. It was such an interesting concept, I knew I had to at least give it a try. I would have liked to see more romance between Driggs and Lex but I always knew deep down there was something special there, even if it wasn’t always on the outside.
Overall: I really enjoyed Croak. I didn’t love it as much as a 5 cupcake book but it was definitely interesting and kept my interest. It was such a weird plot that it was hard to resist reading it. I’m sure a lot of people will put this on their 2012 TBR pile! It’s fun, snarky, and has some cool characters.
Cover: I’ve seen a few different variations of this cover and I like each one the same. I love how she has the big knife looking thing behind her. Also love how her hood is up on her head.

This is my kind of book! Oh, where was this book when I was a teen? Being in love with your best friend when he's constantly got a girlfriend? Yep, been there, done that.
We are introduced to Sadie (cool name) who is best friends with a boy named Garrett Delaney. She's been obsessed with him for 2 years waiting for him to open his eyes and finally notice she's the one for him. Of course, he always has a new girlfriend and she loyally plays the girl sidekick always giving him advice.
After not getting into a literary camp while Garrett does, after his call to reveal his love for yet another girl, Sadie is determined to get over this boy. She must. She has to find herself. How much of her personality is based solely on this guy?
She gets a job at a coffee shop, meets a bunch of new friends, takes up with her old friend Kayla, and starts putting her 12 step program into action. Even her newly found friends help her purge Garrett out of her life for good.
She ignores his calls, texts, emails, and tries to focus on everyday tasks and having fun.
There is also a cute chef who works there named Josh. Josh and Sadie are just friends. I knew from the get go, I was going to like Josh. He was a funny goofy kind of guy. He didn't put the moves on Sadie, he understood what she was going through.
With the help of her friends, she finally starts to learn who she is, and that she doesn't just love everything she thought she did, because of Garrett.
I wanted to hate Garrett but I didn't exactly hate him. But thinking about how some of the little things he did were jerky, I am kind of irritated with him. I mean, some of his actions, really stunk. Yes, at the beginning I wanted him to open his big fat eyes and see how much she loved him and realize maybe he felt the same way, but by the time he even halfway came to his senses, I was so over Garrett and into Josh.
As for Sadie, I loved her personality. She was very spunky. Her personality was so easy to relate too. The writing just flowed and flowed, and I finished this within a few hours!
Getting Over Garrett Delaney was a great contemporary novel. This is exactly the right book for anyone who has a crush on their best friend especially when they don't feel the same way. This book is exactly what you need to read if your in the mood for a funny but full of lessons novel.
Overall: A Great novel! Abby McDonald is an author to read. I always find her books to be so cute and funny and marvelous! Loved this book! Can't wait to read whatever she writes next!
Cover: Love it! Love how she is laying down with a book over her head. She looks frustrated! I also love how her feet are up against the wall. The cover alone has the word awesome written all over it!

AndMy Thoughts: Honestly, I wanted to love Supergirl Mixtapes. The cover alone suggests it would be unique. The plot sounds like it would be awesome. And its sprinkled with music, big win.
We are introduced to Maria who lives with her father in a small southern town. Her mother has never really been around. Until now. She goes off to New York to live with her mother for a while.
While in New York, Maria is trying to navigate the streets while trying to figure out where exactly she belongs. Back in her hometown, everything was going downhill and she felt like she was losing everything. But in New York, she doesn't fit in at school or in her mother's world.
She’s staying with her mother and her mother's young boyfriend. Her mother introduces Maria to a bunch of new music which Maria loves. Maria’s personality is based a lot on music and its just who she is. Music represents her. She understands it and loves it.
Maria also meets a boy who she takes an interest in. I never really felt connected to him. I really wanted her to end up with someone a little bit better and with more of a personality.
Supergirl Mixtapes did have a lot of music references which were awesome, it also had a bit of romance, and a lot of family drama.
Overall: Honestly, I did enjoy Supergirl Mixtapes a bit. I enjoyed the last part of the book more than the beginning. As I read, the middle is when I really became intrigued and I had to keep reading. This one didn’t make my favorites of the year but it was an alright read.
Cover: Pretty cool cover, right? I love the cassette tape, it takes me back to the 90’s before CD’s were so popular.

I don't like calling these books good because even though they are good to read, they are also scary horrible events to read about. I do not want to think about these things happening in real life but they do.
In The Night She Disappeared, we are introduced to the people who work at Pete's Pizza. There is Gabie, Kayla, and Drew. They are the focus of this story. Yes, a lot more people work there but these kids are the main focus.
Drew answered the phone that night, Gabie was supposed to work but she traded shifts with Kayla because Kayla asked. The man was after Gabie, not Kayla. He wanted Gabie to fill in his plan. Kayla was kind of an innocent bystander in all this, in his plans. The girl with the Mini Cooper is the one he wanted.
Kayla gets kidnapped and Drew and Gabie are left to put together the pieces. Everybody thinks Kayla is dead. She's been gone a while now. Gabie believes that she's still alive, somewhere, somehow.
This novel is told in many different perspectives, I think my favorite was Kayla's. I needed to know what she was going through, if she was strong enough to survive this.
The Night She Disappeared is an exciting psychological mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I liked all the extra stuff, like the police reports, the newspaper articles.
I really enjoyed this novel. I enjoyed reading what they were all going through. Part of me is sad by it though. These things really happens and that stings! I don't like the topics but the stories are always interesting, because you find yourself wanting to know if the main character will be ok!
The whole time while reading, I wanted to know who took Kayla and why?
The Night She Disappeared was a great second novel for Henry. It will please many readers.
Overall: I really enjoyed The Night She Disappeared, even if I don't like the topic very much. It's just too darn scary to know this does happen in real life. I liked reading from all the character's perspectives. I felt like I was in each one's mind. I really enjoyed this one a lot.
Cover: Like it. The cover fits perfectly. The girl on the cover is walking down a road. The colors are go together, especially the text.
