But I disagree. I think it is as good. It held my attention. Whenever I wasn't reading it, I was wondering what was happening to Katniss, as if her life and mine were moving through the same dimension of time. I returned again and again to the book as soon as I could, until I surrendered and read through until the end. I even had a nightmare about it. I admit that another Hunger Game seemed a bit gimmicky (if it worked to get our interest in the first book, why not use it again in the second?). But for whatever reason, it worked. The plot is complex and satisfying and instead of waiting to read Mockingjay in a month or two, I'm going to start it right now even if I am supposed to be reading a dozen other books for school. ...more

My only complaint would be the price: $24.95 is a wee bit high for a Nook / Kindle e-book. My other complaint in the e-book edition is that several pages are put onto one. I would have preferred each have its own page so that I could savor the artwork. Congratulations, Ms. Phillips! It's a wonderful book!...more

I want more of Sir Charles and her: he keeps her honest and real. And now, at the last sentence, we have James Lacy come back to haunt her.

This is a real mystery with lots of clues for the readers. The men in her life are less amusing and more amused by Agatha, which is irritating, also. There are only 22 Agatha books, so I'm getting towards the end.
A word about Kindle books: the ones I have read so far (all older titles) are filled with typos. There are so many typos that I am compelled to count them. Why can't they clean this up? I have read about how Kindle books are produced, so the problem is not with Amazon. It is the publisher. ...more

As you read it you can see television, films and novels that it has inspired, it is even the same plot as The Hunger Games. Read it and recommend it to the children in your life.
