I dropped everything and dove straight in... and I am not at all sorry!
Ever since The Girl in the Ice, Erika has been one of my favourite characters. She is strong, determined and she really cares about her work and the victims. Her team of Moss and Issac - brilliant. I love how they bounce off and support each other.
In Fatal Witness, Erika stumbles upon a murder scene on a walk in her new neighbourhood. A wannabe true crime podcaster has been brutally murdered in her apartment. Finding out what she was working on and who her connections were proves difficult for the team. As they dig deeper and deeper it appears things are not as they seem. And then there is another body in the apeartment block.
Bravo Robert Bryndza and thank you so much for bringing Erika back. Easily all the stars. Thank you Raven Street Publishing and Netgalley for my advanced copy. Published July 7th....more

I listened to this in a day, The cast narration was so well done and I couldn't get enough of it. A well written whodunnit that will keep you guessing - who is dead.
These wealthy women of Buckhead were out of control! Centred around Glow Beauty Bar, owned by Jenny., this is an unofficial clubhouse for these ladies if you like. You need a membership to go here and have alot of treatments in a month. Only the best for these women. Olivia is by far the most controlling and hideous woman! What won't she do to get ahead - nothing! The other women tolerate her because they have to, otherwise she will take them down. Shannon is still struggling with being the ex wife of Bryce, and his new and much younger wife, Krystal, now a part of this group.

It is a big book at over 400 pages but it was one that you just had to keep reading.
Happy New Year! This small town in Wales has a tradition of a morning swim in the feeezing cold Mirror Lake on New Years morning. It was a big night for alot of the resident’s, celebrating New Years Eve at a party at the exclusive estate called The Shore. But, the swim is cut short when a body of a man washes up to shore. DC Ffion is called to the case as well as DC Leo Brady from the UK, as the town is right on the border.
As the investigation begins into who killed Rhys Lloyd, a well known singer and actor, Ffion and Leo soon discover that he was not a popular man. There is a town full of suspects. Secrets long hidden will be revealed.

I had been seeing this one everywhere and wasn't sure if I would like it. I was convinced to try the audiobook by Tina @booktalketc . She is a trusted source and I knew that if she enjoyed it then I probably would too.
And I did! I found the audio on Scridb and I listened to it in a day. I just wanted to keep going and find out what would happen next. The whole book is told in emails, diary entries and FBI correspondence which was an interesting format and it worked really well for this kind of book.
You will probably want to go into this blind, but if you liked Inventing Anna on Netflix (as I did!!) then you will want to meet Lora and Cat.
Not the easiest of books to read. Lots and lots of content warnings including rape and domestic abuse. It was a hard one to read at times.

This is more a character driven story than a thriller in my mind. It was certainly a slow burn and felt a bit too long for me. It had a great premise, the 3 wives receiving a letter from a woman claiming that their husbands had raped her mother many years ago. The 3 women were all very different and the way that they handled this news was interesting.
I just don't feel that this was the right book for me. I have read very mixed reviews on it so I think alot of it is a personal choice.

In a bit of a change this time, we are transported back to 1962 and it was such a great story to binge.
1962, Texas. Grace is telling the truth, he husband and children are still alive but nobody will believe her. She is locked away in the Texas State Lunatic Hospital and being treated with pills, hydro shock therapy and threatened with a lobotomy. She is terrified and starts to think maybe they are right and she is losing her mind. But then she makes a friend in her roommate Elizabeth, and things get even wilder than before.
I can’t say too much more as with all Kings books, you don’t need to know too much going in. It is an absolutely addictive and crazy read that you won’t want to put down.

In The Binding Room, we learn a lot more about them, their struggles and their pasts. It is another dark and gruesome police procedural, from Nadine Matheson and certainly kept me intrigued.
This is a long book, at over 500 hundred pages. Long books don’t bother me in the slightest but I know that some people don’t like them. It was perhaps a little long, and I did work out one of the endings quite early in. That is not to say that I didn’t enjoy it, but it wasn’t as shocking as The Jigsaw Man for me.
The team are called to a church, where a pastor has been murdered. Whilst looking around the scene, they discover a man, bound and tortured, in a hidden room. Are the 2 things linked? Who is this man? Who would kill a pastor? at here are a lot of questions in this case, and they only get more as they start the investigation.
This books has a lot of dark and disturbing scenes, and it will not be for everyone. There are some themes that will not be comfortable for a lot of people as well. I don’t want to say too much so as not to spoilt it, but be warned.

The setting for most of this book was Hungary. I think this may be the first book that I have read set here. So much detail on the history of the country and the places in the town where Nelli was from. It was interesting.
Nelli has been living in America with her husband Clint and son Ryan for many years. She has always been secretive about her past and listening in Hungary. So when she suddenly announces that she is taking Ryan there for a school reunion, Clint is surprised and unsettled. His feelings aren’t settled when he can’t get hold of her. With no other options, he takes his brother with him to find his wife. In a country where he hardly knows anybody and doesn’t speak the language, he soon discovers that she hasn’t been seen for days. As a teenager, Nelli and her friends made an awful mistake and someone wants revenge.
A big thank you to the author for my advanced copy of her book to read. Released April 26th, this is one not to be missed. Also available on Kindle Unlimited....more

How do I even start to review this incredible book? I was blown away by this extremely clever and intense book. This has to go up there with How to Disappear and Anything You Say as one of my favourites of your books. Just so good.
I have so many questions on how an author even writes a book like this? It is like nothing that I have ever read before. Starting in present day, we meet Jen. She waiting at home for her 18 year old son, Todd, to come home from a night out with friends. But she witnesses him kill in stranger in her driveway. What? Why? How? When she finally gets to sleep that night after he is arrested, she wakes and it is the day before - and the murder hasn't happened yet. Again - What? Why? How?
And every time she wakes, she is further back in the past. She soon realises that she has to find the clues in the past, to stop the future and save her son. The further back she goes, the bigger the secrets she discovers.
Trust me, this book is brilliant and deserves all the stars and more. You have to read it to believe it. It will astound you and keep you on your toes. My brain hurt, but in a good way.
