After seeing Elisabeta through the last couple of books, I was excited to see her book. She definitely needed one of the ancient Carpathians to help her overcome her fear of everything. I was so happy that it was Ferro.
One thing about this series is that our couples are made for each other. Even though Elisabeta has suffered a long difficult confinement, her lifemate knew how to help her, how to soothe her and how to help her heal. Some may think this is contrite but I love the fated aspect of it no matter the circumstances.
Another aspect of this series that I love is the fierce battle between the Carpathians and the Vampires. The Vampire that had taken Elisabeta is desperate to get her back. It makes for an interesting story for this couple.
If you haven't read this series, I wouldn't start at the beginning. Those at the very beginning are not my favorites. I believe you can pick up at about Dark Slayer and be able to understand just fine. And I believe that you could start with Dark Song and be just fine. The author always explains the world....more

It's a good book two for a fantasy series. Fast paced and a rollercoaster of action, it does capture your attention. There's a lot of answers and even more questions.
I began being annoyed with Violet at about 2/3. Her trust issues and her taking all setbacks on her own shoulders just made me pull away from the characters. Pretty sure that's why I wasn't wrecked by the ending.
I wanted to love it as much as Fourth Wing but I didn't. It's possible that pure fantasy verses urban fantasy is my issue. It's also possible that the rollercoaster just went higher than I could ever be comfortable with. I haven't decided if I will read book three. My book loving heart is currently not on board.
I expect anyone who read Fourth Wing will want to read this book. But this book is not one that should pull anyone new to the series....more

This book captures you from the start and holds on tight. It has all the magic of the beginning of the Hunger Games but combines that with the intrigue of From Blood and Ash. Throw in some dragons and you have a fantastic book.
I haven't been feeling the book tug that much lately so when this book arrived, thank you Entangled, I wasn't sure I wanted to give it a chance. I just opened it to see what the first few pages would be like. Yeah, that tug was back and I was captivated.
I cannot wait for the second book! I thought I knew what was going on, but this wrinkle I wasn't expecting made me want book two NOW.
Don't doubt yourself on this one. Pick it up when you have more than a few minutes because you aren't going to want to stop reading until 500 pages go by....more

Something is not right there. So he's on his own for the beginning of the story as he meets Amaryllis. Little hints are dropped about a bigger mystery that's going on in the area where Amaryllis lives. Between these two mysteries, this book is an interesting story.

Another amazing book in this series!
I was delighted to learn how Ivan and Lei story fit into this world. Loved how I knew more than the characters. And I fall hard for Ivan.
The story begins in the present as we meet Ivan Mercant. He is detached, powerful and considers himself a monster. Yeah, he's channeling Kaleb Krycheck which had me believing I would adore him. Of course I loved him.
We quickly jump back 15 months when Ivan first met Lei. It's an interesting relationship that had me guessing a lot but I was way off as to who Lei is. I'd read the blurb and knew enough to wonder about her. I was so excited when I realized how she fits into this world. A master story teller, this author did an amazing job of crafting this character from the weave of a previous book. I also loved that when we first meet her, she is bubbly and vivacious, full of color and spirit. Then when she reappears the change in her is dramatic. Thin, colorless and vengeful. It had me trying to puzzle out the change and it had me reading late to find out the answers.
Back in the present time, Ivan is another puzzle I wondered a lot about. His backstory was perplexing. Questions and more questions, I really wondered about him. His story stays opaque for a long time but was well worth the wait. Of course he is that amazing. How could he be anything else.
Overall, this book had me in awe of this author and how she brilliantly weaves this world together and brings these characters to life. I adore this world, this series, and am so happy to see familiar faces. It's so fun to know the characters and how they will react. It adds to the joy of reading. I will always read new books in this series and I will always reread this series. It is a comfort to me....more

In thiOne of the things that amazes me about this series is how the author takes one small piece of the world and expands it into this amazing story. In this case, it's the anchors. We've know about anchors for many books but they just were. We knew little about them but didn't really see much to worry about there. Even as the net has had it's very serious issues, the anchors didn't come into play. But they have been there all along and now we learn what they have been doing to fix the net's issues as the other stories have played out.
I love Conto. He's amazing to me. He is part of a pro-creation agreement between the Mercant family and another less known one. He was to be a Fernandez. But his father rejects him and his physical problems and he's willing to let him die. Enter his grandmother. The Mercant family does not throw away their children. His story alone is amazing but then you add in Payal Rao and this book is just awesome.
The net continues to be in danger of dying. The rot has gone to the level of the anchors and it's time to bring them into the conversation. Well, more like it's time for them to demand a seat at the table. That's Payal's way. She's got that blunt way about her. But don't assume she is silent. Her past is dark like Conto's and they just work together.
I loved how this story progresses and keeps you turning the pages. Like all the books I've read by this author, she has excellent writing, plots and characters. I highly recommend anything she's written but his series is my favorite.

Before this Covid thing started, she started writing Sanctum. I found out and demanded to read it. I received chapter by chapter from her. She was just writing for fun but I was POSITIVE that this book needed to be published. There were a few of us that were reading her chapter and we began insisting that she publish it. She finally gave in and the Blackwater Pack was born. You can find us on Facebook. Boy, have we grown. We are all about the Blackwater Pack. This is a word of mouth group that has fallen in love with the shifter world that Hannah built. We demand that she writes more and she does. Now there are 3 novels and and a novella in Remy & Skye's story. Soon there will be spinoffs for other members of the pack. Frankly, they are the best books I've read in a while.
Legacy is the last book in Remy & Skye's story. Their story started with an emotionally spent Skye and her mother just trying to escape hell, yeah Longs Peak was really that bad. Skye's story is one of strength and triumph. She finds her mate, Remy, but that's hardly the end of their story. Together they work to make a difference in their world. They move from high school to leadership and all the fun happens in Legacy.
Should I admit that I had a hit list for this book? I did. There some characters that just needed some justice. I won't say if they all got it or not but I was not disappointed with the way things developed. That's because these characters grow and progress in a believable track despite them being able to shift into wolves.
Remy & Skye are the best. They have struggles and get mad at each other. They work together and succeed often but really they felt like friends. I believe in these characters. I hope to meet them in real life because our world would be a better place if I did. Are they perfect? Of course not, none of us are but they figured things out and that just made me happy.
The secondary characters own my heart too and I can't wait for the spinoffs to begin. There's a list there of characters that need their own story. A few I'm going to be very impatient about. A certain mom and dad are at the top of my list followed quickly by a Russian witch - um elemental.
This story picks up right where Prey left off and it's a good thing. Yeah, most readers were struggling with the ending of Prey. I knew it was okay so I just bugged the author to write faster.
It's an exciting story filled with lots of..."did that just happen?" and "yes!" moments! One in particular involved a certain jerk from Longs Peak and a new favorite character we meet in this book. No, I won't tell you more. You need to experience these moments for yourself! And I do suggest you experience them at your earliest convenience. Remy & Skey's story is so much fun. You will want to enjoy it without spoilers.
Anyway, this book is the perfect ending to their story. I very much enjoyed it and will definitely need to read it again. It's the kind of book, series that takes you through an emotional rollercoaster and leaves you whole on the other side. It's the fight in Skey that does that. She doesn't give up. It's the strength in Remy. He is always there.
I really can't recommend this series more. If you haven't started, get on that. If you need to catch, do it now. ...more

This world of Ghost Walkers is very interesting. I enjoy the idea of soldiers that own the night as long as they are the good guys side. I really don't like Whitney. But my soldiers? Love them all.
This is Rubin's story. He's from the Appalachian mountains and grow up rough. That time brought him and his brother closer than ever. They have skills and have perfected the art of killing over the years. Add their psych skills and they are a force to be reconnected with.
Enter Jonquille. She's Rubin's perfect match. They are incredible together.
Here's the thing though, this is more than a story about two Ghost Walkers who are perfect for each other. The added intrigue makes the whole story so enjoyable to read.
Don't miss this great addition to the Ghost Walkers. If you haven't read this series yet, you should get started on it. So worth it....more

Can't wait for the next one. And let me clear up the issues I had with Storm and Fury. I have always loved Zayne. From the first book in the Dark Elements Series, he was my choice. I had a lot of feeling tied up in the team Zayne, team Roth choice. I was in the minority of those who were not team Roth and I cried hard tears for Zayne at the end of that series. Those feeling came to an ugly head in the reading of Storm And Fury because I felt like he was being put right back in the same position he'd been in then. As a result, I didn't like that book, at all. But I have since re-read it after the purge of emotions that happened with the first reading. I now enjoy that book and am excited for this Zayne to have his happy. Of course, that's not certain at this point, not with the Harbinger in the way.
This book is the second book in the Harbinger series and shouldn't be read stand alone. The author does a good job of recapping Storm and Fury with a ghost conversation but I'd still read Storm and Fury first. Rage and Ruin picks up where the first one left off. Trinity and Zayne are forbidden to be together as they try to stop the apocalypse.
My favorite genre is urban fantasy, or whatever they are calling it these days. I have always enjoyed the action between the kisses. And I enjoy the parallels between our world and the fiction. So many things can be seen clearly by looking at in a new light. I feel like this author does a good job of pointing out issues in our world but letting them play out in an urban fantasy setting. That was one of things that drew me to the her first series, Covenant. She does it here too highlighting disabilities and how people should be allowed to be who they want to be. I admire her ability to do that.
This author has a way of creating strong female characters. Trinity has insecurities and struggles that make her so real but at the same time, she dives right in when the badies come around. She reminds me so much of Alex from the covenant series. It may be the fighting skills they have in common and the lack of a filter between their brains and their mouths. I just love them both. I may have gotten frustrated with Trinity a few times but I love her determination and willingness to get things done.
Zayne is not the perfect gargoyle that he was in the Dark Elements Series. Following the rules hasn't got him anywhere in the past, so why continue? That's Zayne's point. I adore the banter between Zayne and Trinity. I love that he stops something (which I will not tell you what) at a critical point because it wasn't right for him. He doesn't need his heart smashed to pieces again like it was in the first series. I was so happy with him. He's grown and learned to be the man he is. I've watched that through both series' and I love him all the more for it. He is a good guy that will always be there for Trinity, no matter what.
I so love Zayne and Trinity together. They have amazing chemistry and truly belong together. There is so much to overcome and I don't have clue how that's going to work out but I do trust this author to find a happy for these two.
As for the Roth appearances? Yeah, I know a lot of team Roth fans that was just so excited for every tidbit of him that they got but there was only one scene he was in that made me happy. I guess I haven't really gotten over my issues with him. But I was happy about Bambi.
As for the story, I was much happier with this book than I was with book one. In the first book, I saw a lot of what was coming but that wasn't the case with this book. Small things, I figured out but the big stuff? No way. And the ending? Oh my, can I have book three NOW.
I have questions and wondering that I wish I could go visit this author and pry out of her. I wonder about Trinity's dad. There's a moment where Trinity talks to him, not in person. And I feel like it had something to do with how things played out. I want to understand that relationship better. I feel like the whole world has been put on it's axis and I wonder how things are going to change. It's going to be an exciting ride and I just can't wait.
Of course you need to read this one. If you are a JLA fan, that's a no brainer. But for those of you who haven't read her books, it's time to jump on the bandwagon. Storm and Fury and then Rage and Ruin is a great place to start. It's some of the best urban fantasy I know. It's a mix between mature YA and NA with a whole lot of story around the kissing. Check it out....more

And this one? The strong characters captured my heart and the compelling story kept me turning the pages of this amazing debut read. It's such a breath of fresh air to be so comfortable in a story so fast. I wanted every detail and I wanted to kick some shifter hind end!
I am a very character driven reader. I have to care about them and believe they are real. It became very clear, very quickly with Sanctum that I not only cared about these characters but I was now friends with them. (Well not Cassian - him I wanted to kick). Skye is a survivor. She does what she has to do to get through a really horrible experience. I'm so incredibly proud of her. I get why she strikes out when she does. And I was so very happy when she left Long Masa pack. That's when we meet Remy.
Remy. He is the very best book boyfriend. Gorgeous and perceptive, he's perfect for Skye. He's strong, a great leader and the protective streak he has going is just what Skye needs. But he lets her stand on her own two feet. I love them together. I love the draw between them. The bond. It all came together with perfection. What I love the most about these two and the plot of this book, is not they are a question mark but how they will work together to overcome the obstacles that drop before them. It makes the story more about combined strength than couple angst. I enjoy that a lot.
The story pulls the reader in quickly with Skye trying to avoid Cassian's advances in Long Masa. Immediately, I am on Skye's side and I stay firmly there throughout the story. The plot moves at a fast pace and had me turning pages wanting more. The authors style is focused on the story she's telling. I always had enough information but never felt bogged down in details. That's a perfect balance.
This is a must read for paranormal book lovers. It falls clearly in the above 17 age group. Fans of Jaymin Eve and Audrey Grey will love this book. Anyone who is looking for a great shifter book must make time for this one soon....more

I'm so grateful to Entangled Teen for sending me this book early. I will admit that I love the cover but I wasn't sure I had time to read it. One evening, I picked it up to just look a bit. I wasn't intending to start reading it. But... the best laid plans.
Yeah, the story pulled me in from the beginning with the humor, the mystery and the sexy guy who can't seem to leave Grace alone. Who can resist a girl being forced to relocate to an Alaskan boarding school and meeting an incredible gorgeous guy who wants her to leave immediately. Not this reader.
The story is a bit of a mystery as Grace tries to figure out who's trying to kill her and why everyone hates her. I could see the different monsters around her but she took a little longer to figure it out. It may have been the altitude sickness or the failed attempts on her life clouding her mind. Not to mention the massive castle where she lives. Mostly, I think she had fallen for Jaxon.
I love both of these characters. Grace has just lost her parents and her only family is in Alaska. She's trying to adjust to the life altering lose and everything around her being strange. Despite people being incredibly mean to her, she has a kind heart. Even in her first meeting with Jaxon when he tried to throw her out of the castle, she found a way to make a connection with him. I admired her spirit. She stood up to people and didn't let them walk all over her. She kept trying. And something she says at the end of the book speaks to her character so much. I won't spoil anything by telling you what it was.
As for Jaxon, I thought I hated him at first. He was really mean to Grace. Okay, she may not know it but he's got his feeling on lock down. The problem was that she melted his ice. From that first meeting, she makes a connection with him. He's rocked by that. It was so fun to watch him try to avoid her, try to ignore her. Yeah, good luck with that. In the end, I fell for Jaxon. When I learned his story, I was so happy Grace was able to melt his ice. They belong together.
I'm completely in love with this world and cannot wait for more. I adore magic that exists right in the middle of our normal world. I enjoyed the many monsters that were at the school. One in particular made me mad. He seemed nice and all but he made poor life choices. I would have been okay if Jaxon had removed the problem. Another character, I saw through her happy smile but wasn't sure what she was planning. I did not trust her though. While I was figuring out a lot as we went along, I didn't see that ending coming at all. Take about cliffhanger. I need book two NOW.
I have something to say about the people who think this is a poor knockoff of Twilight. No. Just no. People! One or two small plot points are similar but that's where things end. Jaxon is so not Edward and Grace is nothing like Bella - THANK GOODNESS. Because as much as I may have loved Twilight, Crave is so much better.
Pre-order this book and schedule some time on release day to devour it. You will be glad you did. Then I won't be alone waiting for more....more

I admit to liking the TK's the best. Judd, Kaleb and Vasic are all broken. None of them think of themselves that way but it was true. That is what drew me to them. Ethan. Ethan is unique. He knows he is broken. His childhood and the pain that he faced growing up was ugly. And he is dedicated to Selenka. He captured my heart quickly. Then he adopted a stray dog. Well adopted is a strong word but you get the idea. I fell in love with this strange TK that is struggling with something inside his brain. So I was also worried about him. Yeah, this story is much more complicated than a mating at first site.
There are a few books that I turn to when I need comfort. Both Psy-Changeling and the newer one Trinity are those books. I turned to this series during the quarantine. I started at the beginning and re-read every one before I finished with this one. The world this series is built in is a world I would be happy to live in. Despite the ongoing struggles this world has, it feels comfortable and hopeful.
Selenka is a hard core wolf Alpha. She defines the word tough. Ever other time she has made an appearance in the series, she seems untouchable. She is the last person you would expect to mate at first site. I feel like she's the perfect one to navigate this strange experience. Because the mating part of the story is set. No dance. No drama about that. That means there's a lot more story around these two. Oh, there is too. I was incredibility impressed with Selenka. And her with Ethan. Because Ethan needed her strength as much as Selenka needed Ethan.
The story is a twisting ride between mates learning about each other, a pack being attacked, and the mess that is the Psy world. Lots of things surprised me. One in particular is stunning. So many hints were given. And while I was sure that death was not involved, I was surprised at the final answer. And, as always, this book leaves me wanting more. Thank goodness for re-reading.
