A morte é a única coisa que temos como garantida ao nascer e por isso, falar sobre ela não deveria ser tão difícil de fazer. No entanto, não é algo que estejamos habituados a pensar, falar e refletir sobre, embora seja algo que deveríamos estar predispostos a fazer. Este livro, é um retrato excelente de como falar sobre a morte é imprescindível, não só para nós próprios, mas também para quem temos ao nosso redor. Se o fizermos, compreenderemos que uma morte física não representa uma morte total e não representa o nosso desaparecimento completo da vida. As pessoas morrem e vão continuar a morrer e não podemos fazer nada para evitá-lo, mas quando alguém importante para nós morre (fisicamente) ela não morre no nosso coração, ela não desaparece de nós. Todos os momentos que passamos com ela permanecem, o nosso amor por ela permanece, tudo o que experienciamos juntos permanece e isso é o maior dos confortos que podemos encontrar na experiência do luto. É importante, num processo de luto, sentir tristeza e chorar, pois faz parte e é uma forma de aliviar os nossos sentimentos, mas também é importante permanecer consciente de que embora a pessoa se tenha tornado "invisível" ela permanecerá connosco até ao fim dos nossos dias.
Este é um livro fácil e difícil de ler ao mesmo tempo. É preciso estar preparado para ler e interiorizar o que nele contém. Para mim, é sobretudo uma reflexão da existência humana.
