This is the first book I've read by David Raymond and I found it delightfully quirky! I've come to realize I love a good twist on a classic story, and this did not disappoint. Descendants of the well known Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes star in this fun book, and Watson stars as a dog- absolutely hilarious. I definitely enjoyed this take on Sherlock Holmes and would love to read more!

I already loved Libby Kay from the Buckeye Falls series, so I was super excited to dive into a new series by her! I love me a good southern small-town rom-com and she never disappoints. Starting off with some heartache for the main female protagonist, Whitney (watching your ex propose to another woman very quickly after a breakup is ROUGH), a road trip towards home gone wrong lands her in a small town she visited as a child. Being a small town, the male protagonist is connected to almost everyone in the region and they are hard pressed to find themselves NOT spending time together. Super sweet story, looking forward to the next!

I’ve now read two books in the Hot Flash Hookups series, and will for sure be going back to read the two I’ve missed so far. One of my favorite things about a series is when they can also stand alone; I was able to read both books without having read them in sequence (which is important when you accidentally start a series not realizing you’re in the middle of it!), but still able to enjoy the cameos and crossover characters.
One of my favorite things about the Hot Flash Hookups is the realistic portrayal of the older women. While I am not a single woman, I am in my 40s, so reading about perimenopause and raising children is very relatable, and I really enjoyed how they had Molly navigate her own childhood issues while doing her best to raise her son.
I wouldn’t even say I’m a huge hockey fan, but every time I read one of these books, I want to go watch a game! Great series, definitely recommend!

This is the first book I've read by Kallyn Jones and while I think the story felt a little long at times, I really enjoyed the second chance later in life love story, and the character developments. I especially loved the character arcs and real-life issues; health issues that occurred in the story were absolutely things that every day people have experienced. Menopause, older parents aging, young girls going through puberty- all of these issues were covered eloquently and tastefully.
I also love a good stand alone book; it's a good glimpse into the Oakville World, but previous books in the collection aren't a necessary read.

I've read each book in the Shadow Defense Security series so far, and this one did not disappoint! Breaking News was a fun read! Having read the first few books in the series, I love seeing the character developments and cross overs, as well as expanding on ancillary characters. The plot was very intriguing, and I definitely enjoyed the east coast mob/mafia type tie-ins- those were intriguing! I’ve read every Buckeye Falls book Libby Kay has written and just absolutely love the characters. I love the small town feel, how everyone is somehow connected and cares for one another. As a parent, I really loved The Nice List Checklist! Not only do I love a good rhyming book for kids, it's easy to get into a good read-aloud rhythm and find different inflections, it's a great technique for kids to remember the story as well. Especially important to me are books that include a positive message with examples of right and wrong-

This is the first Mark Nolan book that I have read, so by accident my first Jake Wolfe thriller. I don't love starting at the end of a series, but a plus is that this can definitely be read as a stand alone. Knowing the book has predecessors, there are things stated that were linked to probable previous content, but weren't entirely necessary to know the backstory of.

I honestly didn't realize I had read books by this author until the end (suggested readings by the author) and then it all made sense. I absolutely LOVED this book and am eagerly awaiting the next! I love a book set in the real world that dips into magical realms (I love all the HP, Twilight, etc.) and this is a fantastic addition to these types of books.

I read a lot of fiction, but don't typically choose science fiction. I have read both of the Julia Xero books that are currently published and have really enjoyed both of them. Gloria Oliver does a good job creating a science-fiction world embedded in "the real world" and characters you feel connected to. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 ended (I only minorly regret not having re-read book 1 before picking up book 2, the gap of time had some of the details a little bit fuzzy) but I love when books continue on as if you haven't missed a beat. Definitely looking forward to book 3!

I somehow accidentally missed Shadowed Defense book 3, and while I'm kicking myself (and on my way to find it and read it as soon as I'm done typing), I really really enjoyed this one! I've read books 1 and 2 already and they definitely continue to get better and better (not necessarily the writing, the writing is solid, but the storylines are becoming more complex as they go). I found the story engaging from page one and had a really hard time putting it down. I liked not only the Shadowed Defense agency pieces, but also the highly intelligent female lead character- good book, definitely recommend!

I thought this was a super cute beach romance and I especially love knowing it's a series! Thanks to her sister, Hope ends up the unlikely owner of a dive resort- and she has zero interest of learning to dive! Until she meets the stoic, very attractive dive instructor. Erin Brockus did a great job creating a believable set of characters you want to become friends with (well, most of them, anyway. Some of those resort guests are also very realistic, in the not friendly way) and definitely made me want to learn how to dive! Engaging story, easy to read, and just the right amount of romance. Looking forward to book 2!

I didn't realize initially that this was a book in a series, Book #4 to be exact, but am happy to report that it serves well as a stand alone as well. I'm sure there would be added value to the content including background on the characters and adventures they've experienced together, but not having read those did not seem to detract at all to the storyline; Ms. Suen did a great job of providing just enough context without leaving a reader wondering what they're missing.

This is the first book I have read by Ava Silvers, and I really enjoyed her storytelling! Knowing this is the first in a series is exciting; there were definitely pieces of the story that would have felt unresolved or that I had questions about that I am hopeful she expands upon in future stories (like the Librarian?!). Silvers does a great job with describing characters and mystical components; I especially am intrigued by the town that accepts magical beings and encourages them to live without hiding their identities. Trusting Love was a fun read! First book I've read by Julie Navickas and I enjoyed her realistic portrayal of the quickly developing romance. The main characters both had independent backstories that really added to the progression of their relationship (for better or for worse!). Both Tess and Ryan have had rocky previous relationships and easily let their past issues become present, but their family and friends help them work through their issues and push them to better their circumstances. Fun read! Excited to read the rest of trilogy!

I was able to read the Clumsy Little heart books 1 and 2 back to back, and while I definitely prefer being able to do that, I do appreciate that Finding Love, book 2, could easily be a standalone. There are definite references to material from book 1, but nothing that was imperative to the story being read independently.

Murder by Moonlight was the perfect cozy mystery! The setting was unique, taking place at a theme park, and the premise of the cats as nighttime rodent patrol was clever (I am now wondering how likely this is to actually occur!) The mystery itself was intriguing and the main character, Catherine (Cat) being surprised by her ability to communicate with the head cat, Zoe, was a fun added feature of the story!
