A Very Large Expanse of Sea 38720939 From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Shatter Me series comes a powerful, heartrending contemporary novel about fear, first love, and the devastating impact of prejudice.

It’s 2002, a year after 9/11. It’s an extremely turbulent time politically, but especially so for someone like Shirin, a sixteen-year-old Muslim girl who’s tired of being stereotyped.

Shirin is never surprised by how horrible people can be. She’s tired of the rude stares, the degrading comments—even the physical violence—she endures as a result of her race, her religion, and the hijab she wears every day. So she’s built up protective walls and refuses to let anyone close enough to hurt her. Instead, she drowns her frustrations in music and spends her afternoons break-dancing with her brother.

But then she meets Ocean James. He’s the first person in forever who really seems to want to get to know Shirin. It terrifies her—they seem to come from two irreconcilable worlds—and Shirin has had her guard up for so long that she’s not sure she’ll ever be able to let it down.]]>

I know, I should have given it 5 stars but it's fair right? even though I don't have anything I don't like about it besides Lara Jean being her stubborn self.

This book is an easy read but it's the most cutest and my emotions, the feels trains is just off the roof. When I'm reading this book, I feel like I'm reading Lara Jean's diary. We get to know her thoughts, the background of her family and actually getting to know how they are. From there attitude, her expression and their daily routine. I have ever page of the Song girls. It almost reminded me of my sisters. I have two sisters and I'm the oldest but it's funny that I'm a lot like Lara Jean. I can relate to her. ANYWAYS, the writing is simple but the emotions is there, which is really important. I connected with the book right away. The days, I think wasn't confusing. It's really descriptive how they get to one place after the other, which is good.

I have a lot more to say but here's the full review!

PLOT TWIST: What if Aspen had a son and he fall in love with Eadlyn and he's in the selection to win her heart! I think that's an awesome plot or plot twist to it. Also, I'm not surprise if she's best friend with Aspen's son or daughter.

Cheers!

SAYYYYY WHAT?!

I honestly didn't know about this until I have to check the list for 2015 YA releases and I'm so surprise that she'll be writing a 4th one! I think everybody didn't expect this one cause I swear the ending for The One is actually pretty good. I mean it kind leave things hanging and it feels rushed but I didn't didn't hate it. I always have the love for the this series since the first book and I even support the novella's and I seriously can't wait!! I'm freaking out right now ( Like everyone else in this website or even the whole world! )

My first reaction when I saw the cover

When I click on the link and checking if this a dream or not... and then it's for real

As I Descended 28218948 “Something wicked this way comes.

Maria Lyon and Lily Boiten are their school’s ultimate power couple—even if no one knows it but them.

Only one thing stands between them and their perfect future: campus superstar Delilah Dufrey.

Golden child Delilah is a legend at the exclusive Acheron Academy, and the presumptive winner of the distinguished Cawdor Kingsley Prize. She runs the school, and if she chose, she could blow up Maria and Lily’s whole world with a pointed look, or a carefully placed word.

But what Delilah doesn’t know is that Lily and Maria are willing to do anything—absolutely anything—to make their dreams come true. And the first step is unseating Delilah for the Kingsley Prize. The full scholarship, awarded to Maria, will lock in her attendance at Stanford―and four more years in a shared dorm room with Lily.

Maria and Lily will stop at nothing to ensure their victory—including harnessing the dark power long rumored to be present on the former plantation that houses their school.

But when feuds turn to fatalities, and madness begins to blur the distinction between what’s real and what is imagined, the girls must decide where they draw the line.]]>

I'm looking forward for this book but with mixed emotions. Only because The selection trilogy is a well done series and it's one of my favorites. But, I'm really hoping that this wouldn't drag on, you know? Like when a movie series becomes over done. I don't want this to happen to this book.

The Starbound Trilogy: Three worlds. Three love stories. One enemy.]]>
389 Amie Kaufman 1423171020 Gian 5 5/5 stars

Mood and plot insight:
We follow Lilac and Tarver's adventure through unknown planet that might be telling them secrets about Lilac's father and what he's actually capable of. This book take us through there struggles, testing their survival and love for each other. The mood of this book is really well set... From the setting of the Icarus, from arriving from the planet and the coldness of the mountain that they have to experience together. The mood really draws you that really help with the plot as well.

To be honest, I never read such a story before! I'm usually very picky when it comes to anything space related for sci-fi romance, usually it takes time find the right one and now I read this book and I fell in love with the story. I also enjoy the dual point of view. Usually dual point of view is hard to get into but this book did it very well (besides, under the never sky) it is written beautifully. I really enjoy Lilac and Tarver's character development and relationship to towards each other. Even though, it's expected they will fall in love with each other- there relationship is this beautiful to me. It literally made my soul cry. I know it might be simple but there relationship hold so much passion and love for each other- I can't .... They are my OTP!

The challenges and struggles they went though is really interesting to me as well. It was really well describe and that it feel like you actually feel the pain and trauma that they go through. It almost felt real, you really they to know the thoughts and what they are actually feeling at the time of distress, sadness and how cruel this unknown planet might be. Overall, it was a job well done. I'm always infested when it comes to survival stuff. The plot pace is a good pace and the character progression is well done and just. I LOVE it!

Characters insight:
Lilac LaRoux: I never dislike Lilac which I find really surprising because usually I would find a love and hate relationship with the main character but not her. I don't think she was perfect because she sure has flaws but I guess it's not as obvious like other female protagonist, maybe it's just me... Anyways she's a stubborn, rich daddy's girl but I think all she wanted is to be herself and to be loved and love a boy that her father won't kill in the end. I like Lilac character progression in the story because she slowly learn how to be brave and how to put someone else before her needs. She learns to be the girl that she always has in her and I like it. In the end, she got Tarver'and she finally stood up from her father and hope to leave her and Tarver alone. She's a LaRoux after all but less... Crazy like her father.

Tarver Merendsen Tarver... I'm very neutral with Tarver what I really admire about him is his love for Lilac. From being the strong one and being able to carry and put up with the survival for two people. He almost start to regress as the story goes on, I'm not saying it's bad but it just seems from all the military service he put up and the death of his brother, Alec. I think it's just right for him to show weakness and how slowly that his mind might be losing it (but he didn't). Good for Tarver for keeping it together no matter what pain and sickness he goes through... Thank goodness he doesn't have that bad ass kind of attitude. Well a little bit but I think he's a gentleman... A very passionate one *winks*

Likes: I love everything about it. The plot, the right pace of relationship between Lilac and Tarver. I just love it .

Dislikes: No dislike here! But I am curious... If Lilac share her story about Simon then what's the story behind Sarah? When Tarver thought that Lilac was Sarah was he was injured. I know she's a girlfriend for a moment kind of thing but still. I think Lilac should have ask anyway or Tarver could have explain it while talking to Alec.

Final Deduction
Love it! They are my OTP!

When the night of the ball finally arrives and Nerine Academy is awash with roses and royalty, Aislynn wants nothing more than to dance the night away, dutifully following the Path that has been laid out for her. She does not intend to stray.

But try as she might, Aislynn has never quite managed to control the magic that burns within her-magic brought on by wicked, terrible desires that threaten the Path she has vowed to take.

Plot and mood insight:
You really have to be invested to finish this book. It took me a while to understand what is really going on. But in the end, it somewhat ties in together. I like how the plot has different elements to it. You have your classic fairytale, princess and fairy godmother and how dark twisted the environment could be. That it's not just a happy ending right away. With the plot, I have some difficulty trying to get my head wrapped around the scenes that I'm reading and what the initial plot is. I didn't know what is happening to Aislynn why she just became a princess to fairy godmother... because she cannot control her powers and how its a forbidden thing for a princess to even have it? I feel like the details of this is very vague. What exactly is the Path? how did that started? some history on that would be nice. As the story progress, it does get really interesting... not just because we see Aislynn character progress into a an innocent shielded princess into a person who finally follow her instincts. That's what I really like about her. The mood really set the story, I like how dark and gloomy the environment is even though that the place look really bright and glamorous. There's still air of tension and uncertainty towards the people that Aislynn see everyday and people that she trusts. I believe that the mood really capture me and I really understand how Aislynn is really feeling.

Character Insight
Aisylnn: I really Aisylnn character progress, I have to admit. At first she would strike me as a weak and maybe even slightly annoying person but I understand what she's going through. She's a princess who doesn't know how the world is really like and what horrible things that people will do and I'm happy where is character is now and I can't wait for more. I just hope that when she does finally learn things, the truth, how to defend herself better, she wouldn't turn into a annoying character.

Brigid: I'm interested on getting to know her and what her relationship with Linnea is.

Thackery: I really Thackery but like Brigid, they are very vague to me. I wish I get to know him better more than just the gardener.

Likes & Dislikes:
Likes: its a different kind of fairytale story to me and I also where Aisylnn character progress is going. I hope it continues on the right path ( no pun indeed ). The concept of princesses having powers makes me think of frozen, I am whoever thought of this? I think it's unique and different.

Dislike: Like Aisylnn, I feel confused and I feel like doesn't make sense right now. Sure, we have a initial idea where might this story is going but everything seems so vague and its not enough explanation. I know it doesn't have to tie in right away but a little light on the note would be nice.

Final Deduction:
It's intriguing.

Like I mention before you really have to be invested in this story to get finish or even like it. It like be so-so to some people but it's actually not that bad of a book. I certainly like it. I would give it a try. ]]>

Fangirl 16068905 A coming-of-age tale of fanfiction, family, and first love.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan.... But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she's really good at it. She and her twin, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fanfiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go. She doesn't want to.

Now that they're going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn't want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She's got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend; a fiction-writing professor who thinks fanfiction is the end of the civilized world; a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... and she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?]]>
483 Rainbow Rowell Gian 2 2/5 stars

Plot & mood insight: I try to like this book so much. I really do, I tried so hard because everybody seems to love it but I justcouldn't get into it. First of all it's cool that there's fanfiction in the story for every new chapter and its a reference from Harry Potter. So I'm like sure! I would love this book but I just can't. What do I think about the plot? I really enjoy Cath and Levi's relationship and the challenges that she has to through with her family and adjusting life at school. But other than that I don't have anything to say really, I'm drawing blank from this book. I feel like there's wasn't anything different about it. I really like Eleanor and Park so I'm wondering to myself why I didn't like this one. Really... I feel like there wasn't any plan at all.

Character insight:
Cath: the first sentence I read about her, we just didn't click at all. I know, she's getting to the point that she needs to be out of her comfort zone but her some reason she kind of got annoying into certain extent. She's a worry wort but still didn't like her.

Levi: I like him. He's really entertaining when he's trying to flirt with Cath. He's only the reason for me to keep reading.

Wren: She strikes me as an independent but also seems to be bratty.

Final Deduction
It's okay.

Personally, I didn't like the book and I know everybody really like it but I couldn't finish it. But please don't hurt, I'm just being honest. I don't know what else to say so I'm signing off.

Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you’d expect from a Rainbow Rowell story—but far, far more monsters.]]>

When Yelena was a poison taster, her life was simpler. But She'd survived to become a vital part of the balance of power between rival countries Ixia and Sitia. Now she uses her magic to keep the peace in both lands—and protect her relationship with Valek.

Suddenly, though, they are beset on all sides by those vying for power through politics and intrigue. Valek’s job and his life are in danger. As Yelena tries to uncover the scope of these plots, she faces a new challenge: her magic is blocked. She must keep that a secret—or her enemies will discover just how vulnerable she really is—while searching for who or what is responsible for neutralizing her powers.

Yes, the days of tasting poisons were much simpler. And certainly not as dangerous…]]>

<![CDATA[The Madman's Daughter (The Madman's Daughter, #1)]]> 12291438
Accompanied by her father’s handsome young assistant, Montgomery, and an enigmatic castaway, Edward both of whom she is deeply drawn to—Juliet travels to the island, only to discover the depths of her father’s madness: He has experimented on animals so that they resemble, speak, and behave as humans. And worse, one of the creatures has turned violent and is killing the island’s inhabitants. Torn between horror and scientific curiosity, Juliet knows she must end her father's dangerous experiments and escape her jungle prison before it's too late. Yet as the island falls into chaos, she discovers the extent of her father’s genius—and madness—in her own blood.

Inspired by H. G. Wells’s classic The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Madman’s Daughter is a dark and breathless Gothic thriller about the secrets we’ll do anything to know and the truths we’ll go to any lengths to protect.

Plot & mood insight: SO THIS TURNED OUT UNEXPECTED. First of all, I want to mention that Ms. Shepard did a really good job setting the mood and how dark London is. It almost felt like I was in the book and I was following the characters through their journey which is a really nice experience. I also notice how the setting is well explained through the eyes of Juliet, thinking how dark she is being the madman's daughter. The setting is almost dark, gloomy, sad and eerie. I LOVE IT!

So actually going to the plot, I didn't want to expect while reading this book, i just thought its some kind of Frankstein story with side of love triangle with it BUT boy was I wrong. Ever page, I didn't know what to expect at all. Sure, it was given that Juliet's father is creating "monsters" that can talk and be almost human but half way through the book, we still don't know what is going and who is this potential killer that is lurking in the jungle. I kind of got the hint that it might be Edward since that his not always around Juliet. It does say that there are other monsters but Edward alway seem to disappear at the odd times so I put him on my suspicious list.

The plot is well maintain and it was a natural progression that keeps everybody at the edge of the seat. It explains how mad the father could be, the potential dark side of Juliet, the sad, confused and passionate side of Montgomery, and the creature, loyal and instant love from Edward. In the end they all tied in with the plot and how the environment of the jungle has a connection with the characters.

So in the end, we did not know if Juliet's father indeed got the justice he deserves. Which, could only mean one thing. HE COULD BE IN THE SECOND BOOK, which he could also be a potential creature. Who knows? He's crazy enough to do that. Or what happens to Montgomery? could he also be a creature or a dark side to him besides being the father of these 'creatures' that he takes care so much. Edward? is he also alive or died?

Characters insights:
Juliet Moreau: I'm not sure what to think of Juliet. I've been wrecking my brain for what to say about Juliet and nothing. I just don't think I clicked with this character. Down the live or die situation she managed to get Montgomery get attack by the transforming and dangerous Edward. I feel like her character progression is slow. She obviously made some big decisions but I think it's nothing too major.

Edward Prince: Even though, I didn't like his insta love for Juliet. I like him, he is sweet, loyal and protective but there's something about it that almost felt like he was too clingy. That's the only thing that seem to bother me.

Montgomery James: I love Montgomery. I know it seems biased because he's Juliet childhood friend but I like him because he's character from being the servant to man that needs to get done is a wonderful character progression. It also might not be a lot but it's better than Juliet ( in my opinion ) I also feel attach to him with every feeling that he feels with every situation he has to faced. Or maybe he's just my overall favourite.

Likes and Dislikes:
Likes: Montgomery and he's love for Juliet. If he's real, I would kiss him. I obviously love the plot and how different it is. I think Balthazar is cute, he is very hopeful and loyal to the people around him. Getting to know that Edward is actually one of the experiments.

Dislike: Juliet's character progression and her decisions. Edward's insta love. The ending! Because Juliet left without the people she cares about and it just breaks my heart.

Final Deduction:
It's unique! Give it a read.

As my final deduction, I would recommend this to other reads because the story is different from other YA books. It touch base with the fact it could be mistaken as a frankstein kind of setting and could surpass as sleepy hollow.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fanfiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go. She doesn't want to.

Now that they're going to college, Wren has told Cath that she doesn't want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She's got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend; a fiction-writing professor who thinks fanfiction is the end of the civilized world; a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words...and she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?]]>

Well I got to say, I got a good run reading this book and I like it. It's probably just the reading slump that is talking but I like how they Ms. Carter wrote a different way about Hades, Persephone and Kate how she can be the next Queen of the underworld. Sure, there were characters that didn't make sense why they were there but I like the writing style and the plot of the story (at least some part of it). I'm not entirely sure if I would like the second book or if I would continue to this series but I would give this book 3.5 stars.

Since a headache is killing me. Here's the things I like about this book:
1. I like Henry. He might be distant and too scared for this own good but I like how mysterious and caring he is.
2. The plot. I heard some people didn't like the plot or it gets boring but I got through it- I almost feel like the plot is way too simple and the task wasn't as hard to Kate. The things she has to do is simple and straight so it wasn't bad. It could be more but it was interesting enough to me (especially getting out of the slump)
3. I love the cover... does that count?
4. The romance between Henry and Kate is wonderful. It wasn't big... sha-bang for the both of them. The part about Kate doing the first moves on Henry is great! I mean most of the books that I've read is that the boy is usually the one to initiate the first moves. It's good that Kate admits that she likes Henry first.

I did not like about the book:
1. Alright, let me get this straight... how can Calliope like Henry when Calliope is basically Hera? I couldn't imagine her being in love with Hades. I just can't but good for the imagination part of it. It's spicing things up with the Gods.
2. Kate Winters. I was surprise that I didn't hate her but I figure why I didn't... she was almost close to being a perfect character. Sure, she was broken and sad because her mother is ill but I feel like her challenges and problems wasn't a big deal or it felt like it was almost too easy for her. Yes, it did say that she struggle to make that kind of decision but I didn't like it. There wasn't anything special to her going through the problems and tests.
3. If 11 girls are killed already... shouldn't you... I don't know maybe already have an idea who could be killing these girls? If a love confession is confessed to you and it was rejected then shouldn't you... oh I don't have a hint who it might be? Epic fail on the Greek Gods.
4. What kind of person are you that would arrange marriage someone and yet... you know that the person is not happy and then still go with it. That's a big no no already.

I think that's all I have for right now. I hope in a way this helps. Sorry I couldn't do more, this headache is just too painful.

Cheers! ]]>

She can't stand Jason, whose celebrity status is only outmatched by his oversized ego, but they form a tenuous alliance for the sake of her friendship with Sophie. As the months go by and Grace adjusts to her new life in Korea, even she can't deny the sparks flying between her and the KPOP idol.

Soon, Grace realizes that her feelings for Jason threaten her promise to herself that she'll leave behind the music industry that destroyed her family. But can Grace ignore her attraction to Jason and her undeniable pull of the music she was born to write? Sweet, fun, and romantic, this young adult novel explores what it means to experience first love and discover who you really are in the process.]]>

4/5 stars

First of all I wanted to say I'm sorry for the longest wait and review for this novella. I have hit the rock bottom over last month and I have to move away from home because of work and ever since they I put everything on hold but I finally decide to put this up.

Book to the review! When I first got this novella, I was so excited- I always wanted to know what Queen Amberly would be like. My initial thought of her going in the selection is that he has no interest in being in the selection, just like America I thought she would be the quite one that just joined because of family. Boy was my deduction is way of the different. So it happen that Queen (before she was Queen) Amberly is head over heels for Clark! I mean I didn't imagine that she was in love with him. I also like the part when they show the environment that Clark is living in as he was growing up and we also see his side and how he can be firm but charming. I can understand why Amberly would like him.

This is explains why Clark didn't like America as a future. Growing up, Clark grew up when his father and mother were fighting and how there relationship wasn't working out. The Queen, when Clark was young; she was wild and rambunctious. So America is acting stubborn and being herself which wasn't really lady like. It probably reminded him how his mother used to act. The Queen is misbehaving, partying and also being wild. Clark is a fair, caring and firm kind of father and man. With this novella, Keira Cass showed us what he is like before and what events that affected him as growing up and so I guess, we couldn't too hard on the guy.

As for Amberly, we are also showed why she is sick most of the time and showed how she really loves Clark for who he is and that he is a genuinely nice man and father. And so the novella ended into who Clark pick in the end. Thus, the ending of The Queen.

I didn't hate it or love it. I like it for the fact that it was really insightful looking in to what Queen Amberly has gone through during her selection and I was happy with the writing and result. I would recommend reading this book especially if you read all the selection series and the novellas.

Signing out,
Gian

SAYYY WHAT?! I honestly can't wait for this novella! I love Maxon's mother and it's really sad to know that she past away during the third book but regardless she's a kind, loving and gracious mother that I know. I'm not surprised if there's a background that she loved someone else before the king. ( evil smirk )

I'll Give You the Sun 16109340 "We were all heading for each other on a collision course, no matter what. Maybe some people are just meant to be in the same story."

At first, Jude and her twin brother Noah, are inseparable. Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude wears red-red lipstick, cliff-dives, and does all the talking for both of them. Years later, they are barely speaking. Something has happened to change the twins in different yet equally devastating ways . . . but then Jude meets an intriguing, irresistible boy and a mysterious new mentor. The early years are Noah's to tell; the later years are Jude's. I wasn't bad book but it just took me a while to finish it. What are my thought? Well I like that R.C Lewis still took that concept as Snow white and the seven dwarf. Here are some likes and dislike about this book

LIKES:
1. R.C Lewis stick the original concept of having a huntsman or in this case a guard to kill Snow White but in the end he couldn't carry the mission and decide to help her escape her home world. Which means lying to the queen that she's died and we all know she's still alive.
2. The seven dwarfs but in this book they are seven mining drones. It's creative and I like it!
3. Dane is the Snow's prince which also in the outcome is a prince from another planet.
4. When the Queen is trying to kill Snow by using the apple pendant which happens to be a poison. She didn't have to eat but it's creative! It's a different way to show the use of red apple.
5.Snow and Dane's love. It's not rush and not too much that it's overwhelming
6.Dimwit. One of the seven drones, I love him. I wish I can have him.

DISLIKE:
1. I didn't feel like the story as rush but I feel like their was a lot of loop hole to the story. Unless, if there is a sequel to this book then I don't mind reading it. There's wasn't a lot of explanation regarding to why King Matthias killed the Snow's mother and if he indeed love Snow's mother then harm Snow?
2. The evil Queen; I don't hate her but she didn't have much dialogue in the book. If she's the mastermind behind in killing Snow then why? But she did explain why she wanted to kill Canadras and it's because her parents were killed by Canadras. Bad childhood experience, alright... got it
3.King Matthias another character that I feel like should have an explanation to his madness unfortunately, I didn't get that

I believe this is all my thoughts to this book. I would defiantly read it to have that retelling fairytale experience, I mean I know there's a lot of them out there so might as well read this one right?

I can't believe I read this on the day that I'm emotional! And no, mother nature has already pass so it's just probably the full moon. BUT! I always love the little mermaid, the Disney version and when I found out that the original story of the little mermaid wasn't a happy ending... It breaks my heart and the fact that this is not the happy ending. It makes me cry even more! Mech6.0/ Star's wish is to be love and explore the vast galaxy that she wanted to explore but she knew being an Android is not meant to fall in love but she's different. In hoping of finding love and returning the locket to Dataran, she thought that she can be finally be free until he fall in love with someone else.

In the end... all I can say is that Marissa Meyer did it... yet again. This time, she gave me a bigger hole in my heart that would take weeks to get over. I can't wait to read more of the Lunar chronicles and for her future books.

<![CDATA[The Unbound (The Archived, #2)]]> 13638131 Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.
Last summer, Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper tasked with stopping violent Histories from escaping the Archive, almost lost her life to one. Now, as she starts her junior year at Hyde School, she’s struggling to get her life back. But moving on isn’t easy, not when her dreams are haunted by what happened. She knows the past is past, knows it cannot hurt her, but it feels so real. When her nightmares begin to creep into her waking hours, she starts to wonder if she’s truly safe.
Meanwhile, people are vanishing without a trace, and the only thing they seem to have in common is Mackenzie. She’s sure the Archive knows more than they are letting on, but before she can prove it, she becomes the prime suspect. Unless Mac can track down the real culprit, she’ll lose everything: not only her role as Keeper, but her memories and even her life. Can Mackenzie untangle the mystery before she herself unravels?

Then Juliet uncovers the truth about the manor’s long history of scientific experimentation—and her own intended role in it—forcing her to determine where the line falls between right and wrong, life and death, magic and science, and promises and secrets. And she must decide if she’ll follow her father’s dark footsteps or her mother’s tragic ones, or whether she’ll make her own.

With inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, this breathless conclusion to the Madman’s Daughter trilogy is about the things we’ll sacrifice to save those we love—even our own humanity.]]>

Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.

Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they'll never see. It's a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.

After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they'll first need to stay alive.]]>

<![CDATA[The Archived (The Archived, #1)]]> 10929432 Imagine a place where the dead rest on shelves like books.

Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.

Da first brought Mackenzie Bishop here four years ago, when she was twelve years old, frightened but determined to prove herself. Now Da is dead, and Mac has grown into what he once was: a ruthless Keeper, tasked with stopping often violent Histories from waking up and getting out. Because of her job, she lies to the people she loves, and she knows fear for what it is: a useful tool for staying alive.

Being a Keeper isn't just dangerous—it's a constant reminder of those Mac has lost, Da's death was hard enough, but now that her little brother is gone too, Mac starts to wonder about the boundary between living and dying, sleeping and waking. In the Archive, the dead must never be disturbed. And yet, someone is deliberately altering Histories, erasing essential chapters. Unless Mac can piece together what remains, the Archive itself may crumble and fall.

In this haunting, richly imagined novel, Victoria Schwab reveals the thin lines between past and present, love and pain, trust and deceit, unbearable loss and hard-won redemption.]]>
