Character development and backstory are 10/10 for this book!
The overarching plotline throughout the series still draws you in and the familiarity that I have developed with the MC in the previous books helps to heighten the emotions in this one, and it is clear that a lot of forward planning has happened as Kate is masterfully guiding the story along her main plot line but making the journey all the more exciting with the different mini arcs throughout with each of the couples!
I cannot wait to continue on in this world, and meet the next couple in the series!

First, I thought nothing could top Ace and Sheridan as a couple, then Hawke and Morena became my favourite Ghost Rebels couple, but they were so quickly replaced by Bear and Orla in this book!

I am amazed at how much the author has managed to fit into less than 100 pages without it ever feeling even remotely info dumpy!
It's a fast burn enemies to lovers, but you can tell that there is a whole lot of backstory and a long history of these two tormenting each other before the book takes place.
I loved how it contained new feeling characters, but brought in a lot of familiar elements from historical characters and stories as well. It has elements of Beauty and the beast and a heist, and brings in characters like Morgana, who is a powerful witch in the story but also a powerful witch in folklore, and the Beast... but make him half dragon. BTW that was a VERY interesting twist on knotting...

I read this in a few hours. A fast paced, fated mates, wolf shifter + human girl small town romance with major touch her and die vibes. Well, firstly Richard is a total Richard who can just go and eat a bag of Richards!!! Right, now that that is out of the way, the relationship between JJ and Little B that develops in this book, and their whole backstory is just chefs kiss. The Author is very skilled at building tension throughout the book and has done an amazing job with this one. So much so, that even though I am not normally a "real-life", "fluffy" romance reader sped through it in a few hours. I will definitely be continuing with the following books, as the Author has managed to leave enough open-ended story arcs in this book to pique my curiosity enough to continue with he next book.
Overall a great story with a great cast of characters. Definitely recommend!

Where the prequel novella drew me in, this one held my attention and drew me in even further. The FMC is the perfect mix of sassy and stoic, and her developing backstory is very well integrated into the main story so that we develop more of a connection with her. Morgan's adventures to not only to rescue innocents and keep her friends safe, but also to find herself again, stop running from an old foe and stand and fight for herself are a real adventure that keeps you turning the pages! I am excited to continue the series and not only find answers for the overarching storyline but to also see what other shenanigans Morgan gets up to!

What a great quick read. It certainly gives a great backstory to our FMC Morgan and all the twisted things that happened to her before the beginning of book 1. I cannot wait to continue the series to see if she manages to learn more about herself and her powers, and to see where she goes from here, as the novella ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger!
