This story was told in dual timelines. We first meet Sarah and Caleb (in their present timeline) at a rocky point in their relationship - their marriage is in desparate need of saving. I think having the dual timelines helped define and add emotional investment to their relationship for the reader - it also added stakes for the peril their relationship was in. 鈥�

Even though Sarah and Caleb's marriage in the present timeline is in a rough spot, it's easy to see why they were fighting to hard to recover it. They were just so good together - with the tension that can only come from loving someone for a very long time. It's been a while since I've read anything inspired by Greek mythology - and this was the perfect book to break that streak. I am a sucker for romantasy and anything with deadly trials, so this book was right up my alley - and I tore through it. There was something about this one that was so unputdownable - between the story of the crucible, the cast of interesting characters and the unraveling of Hades' motivations, I was hooked. Plus the romance at the center was so filled with tension and chemistry - the slow burn was slow burning and was most definitely worth the wait. It's well established at this point that if Tessa Bailey writes it, I'm going to read it. I had been excited for Sig and Chloe's story since they started making cameos earlier in this series - and the wait was worth it.

Any time a new Tessa Bailey book shows up to my place, it's a drop everything and start reading that book type of situation. Her books are just so addictive - between the tension, the spice, the interesting and flawed characters, the humor, and fast pace, they hit for me - and that was especially true for this book.

I'll be honest, I've never read a book with (potential) step siblings before - and I was a bit skeptical. But Tessa Bailey delivered! Sig and Chloe's chemistry was insane straight from their meet cute - even when they became taboo / a forbidden romance, I was kicking my feet and shouting at them to just kiss already. Sig was such a simp for Chloe - in the most endearing and swoony way.

The only part I struggled with in this book was Chloe's naivety. I understand that she was supposed to be sheltered, but it nearly crossed the line into the absurd. I think if she had had a few more basic life skills, it would have been less distracting.

I am having SO much fun with this series - I'm so happy there's going be five books (and I'm gonna need Tessa Bailey to write more sports romances in the future). I can't wait to read Pitcher Perfect later this year!]]> 3.45 2025

I love Rachel鈥檚 books. Something about her writing is so deeply relatable - so naturally, I was really excited for a new adult romance by her. The premise of this book was so interesting - meet cute where 丑别鈥檚 really bad at intimacy, followed by immediate force, proximity, and spicy lessons? Super unique and a fresh story idea. Rhys, on the other hand, was very emotionally buttoned up at the start of the book. When he started to open up he was the perfect mix of grumpy, sweet and a secret cinnamon roll. The two of them together - magic. The pay off was well, well worth the slow burn wait.鈥�

I really appreciate how well developed they both were as characters - they each had their own reasons for teaming up as golfer and caddy - and while they were obviously super cute together, getting to read about them both growing and meeting their goals was also pretty rewarding.

I loved Kenna as a main character - I was rooting for her from chapter one. She was well developed to the point of feeling real. Even in her darkest moments (and she really went through the wringer) she was brave and had the cunning to navigate her very life or death situation. I also liked getting to see glimpses of her softer side via her romance subplot (which was delicious but I don鈥檛 want to spoil it).

Lately, my feed has been dominated by masked men. I鈥檝e favorited videos with them dressed in full cosplay, decked out in futuristic military apparel, and wrapped up like ghouls.

But more than anything else, my FYP is filled with shirtless men wearing ghost masks. Bonus points if they鈥檙e heavily tattooed, wielding a knife, or covered in fake blood. At night, I dream about being chased by them, of them catching me and doing deliciously dark things to my more than willing body.

I never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become my new reality.
