The characters have depth, it is political, there's elaborate worldbuilding and there is romance (which doesn't take up most of the story). The characters can stand on their own and have a personality apart from the love story. There were also some amazing plotwists and even though the storytelling wasn't always fast-paced, it was always interesting. I also loved the depiction of Cyra's and Teka's friendship :)

And even though it's been a while since I've read "Carve the mark" I could get back into the story right away without looking the plot of book one up. The glossary also helped a lot.

]]> 209128832 416 Stefanie Hasse 3473586293 Franzi 3 Als ich die Worte Christmas Roadtrip gelesen habe, wusste ich, ich muss dieses Buch lesen. Der Roadtrip Part hat mir auch echt gut gefallen und ich musste mehrmals schmunzeln. Trotzdem waren da so kleine Ungereimtheiten und mir hat der rote Faden manchmal gefehlt. Dazu haben die Charaktere ihre Gefühlslage sehr häufig geändert, was das ganze etwas wirr gemacht hat. Das Ende war mir dann auch etwas zu viel Drama und mehr ganz so weihnachtlich. Es hat schon fast so wie eine komplett andere Geschichte gewirkt. Allerdings hatte ich auch eher eine cozy-weihnachts-romance erwartet, was zumindest der Roadtrip part eingehalten hat]]> 3.78 2024
