Disturbing. Truly disturbing. I was uncomfortable the entire time I was reading this. The characters are massively screwed up. The relationships are massively screwed up. The story line is disturbing. That being said it was a richly drawn, detailed portrait of these screwed up characters and their screwed up lives. I cared about and for the characters and what happened to them, genuinely wanting them to succeed.

There were no tricks in the plot line (hooray!) and the plot was very well done (especially for a first novel). I was sure I knew the culprit about 100 pages from the end and was very wrong. Thats a good sign.

I think this may be her best book
