After selectively deleting memories of what has happened in the past of these characters (read the last book's grumpy review) I was able to enjoy this one a little more. Even so, I am on the fence about continuing this series. If I am going to have wildly implausible fluff I prefer it to be of the supernatural flavor, thus making the implausible okay, and even desirable. *contemplates*

Also(view spoiler)[ Going back to what bugged me in the last book (apparently the deletion didn't really work), the "surprise" (yes, that was sarcasm) reveal that Bur's parents had sexually abused him (or were attempting to when the other brother came in and stopped them) only made them leaving Bernie behind worse. Was there some sort of assumption on their part that just because their parents hadn't sexually abused Bernie yet, that they knew of (maybe he didn't tell them, like they didn't tell him) that there was no way they would do it, even if the other two brothers ran away and left Bernie as the only one for them to abuse? I don't really like Bernie's brothers. (hide spoiler)]
