** spoiler alert ** Do not go gentle into the night...
I love that quote and I really like that it was the theme of the entire book.
To be honest, I didn't think I'd like this book - it sounded a little too YA, a little too cliched. But, surprisingly, it wasn't. I followed Cassia's day-to-day life with interest and I was waiting to see what else of the perfect Society's imperfections would show next.
The reason I gave the book 4 stars - since I liked it a lot, read it fast - is that it was a little slow. Yes, we get the everyday life and it's interesting and curious, but nothing was really happening - nothing action-y, really. We got Cassia opening her eyes for all the bs that the Society was throwing. Really, it actually makes me appreciate the freedom that I have now - to choose which college to go to, what job to have, whom to love and maybe marry. It kinda made me look into my own life and appreciate it a little more.
I don't know how I can choose between Ky and Xander. If you ask me right now, I'd say Xander. Because, really, Cassia didn't give him a chance. Not as a Match. He stayed her best friend and she really didn't look at him the way she started looking at Ky.
I like Ky as well - he's strong, smart, he knows a lot of thing that he isn't supposed to and is the rebelious kind that can bring the system down. I'd like to see that. That's his best advantage over Xander - he's a fighter. And that's not a small trait.
I liked the book and recommend it to the fans of the genre. Can't wait for the next one - I'm pretty sure it will have actial action in it :D
