I liked this retelling of Dr. Strange's origin story. The pacing is interesting though - having already been familiar with the tale from previous Strange editions, I understood what the present issue was trying to get across, but I am not altogether sure someone new to the Sorcerer Supreme would. Still, the writing is good, and the art work is striking, though I found it difficult in parts to grasp what was going on. Overall, the tone of the book is similar to that of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), so it would not surprise me if the upcoming feature film continues this trend. I plan on checking out the 2015- series which this book inaugurates.
