★★★★ What can I say about this story other than a classic Julie Garwood book still delivers? I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read this one; thought I’d try the audiobook this time. The narration, by Rosalyn Landor, brings this book to life. I’ll be seeking out more of her audiobooks.

Lisa Kay,
What device do you use to listen to your audio books? Where do you get these books from? I have a Sony reader which I think will allow me to listen to audio books but I'm not sure how or where to get them.

Lisa Kay I listen to most of them on my computer. Also, while in my car. I do have a little CD pack I can carry while I walk or do housework, but, alas, I've been lazy in regards to this.

I've heard that you can listen to books on your Kindle, but I only have Kindle for PC, so I don't know how it works.

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Just got this today from Audiable.com (on sale til end of today for $4.95). Can't wait to listen to it after reading your review on the audiable version.

Lisa Kay I hope you enjoy, Dorsey!

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Loving this audiobook Lisa Kay!!!

Have you listened to this one Lisa Kay The Wedding (Lairds' Fiancées, #2) by Julie Garwood ?? If so was it any good...it is a different narritor than "The Bride"

SandyC Started this today for the first time. I was planning to read just one chapter but I got sucked in and 78 pages flew by!

Ronyell Love the beautiful landscape!

Danielle The Book Huntress Oh what a lovely picture, Lisa Kay!

Sorry, Dorsey, just now seeing this! Nope. I didn't listen to that. I'll have to check it out. Is that one narrated by Steven Crossley? Never heard him before.

Glad you liked it, Sandy!

Lisa Kay Thanks, Ronyell & Lady D!

Lisa Kay Yes, it is a good one, BamaGal.

Aayesha The Bride's not only my favourite Garwood, but my favourite of all the romances I've read. :) Whenever I read a book, I'm always (consciously and/or unconsciously) comparing the female lead to Garwood's heroines. They're so sweet and loyal and perfect, you know?

Lisa Kay Very true, Aayesha. She gets away with writing heroines that other authors can't pull off.

Aayesha Aye, whenever I read a book with a heroine I don't like, I always whine to my bestie about how authors always make up awful heroines and why can't they all be nice and trusting and adorable and naive? xD

Lisa Kay Yes, we've seen a lot of b!tchy heroines emerge in recent years.

Aayesha OMG that is exactly what I feel! That's why I usually like reading historicals written in the late 1900's. I try to avoid contemporaries and books written nowadays. I know I won't be able to tolerate the b*tches.

Aayesha Lisa Kay wrote: "Yes, we've seen a lot of b!tchy heroines emerge in recent years."

Do you know of any authors/books whose heroines are similar to Garwood's? It's honestly so hard to find books with good plots and nice heroines nowadays. I'd be much obliged! :)

Lisa Kay Gosh. I don't think anyone is like Garwood. But I do like Mary Balogh, if you're looking for this kind of heroine, but not all of hers are hits.
