it was ok

This was not an easy book to read. For all the effort I put into it, Wally Lamb should have been standing on the last page offering me a sash, a trophy, and large sums of money. It kind of turned into a joke as every night I would tell my husband what the new plotline was. Some of the subjects were: Adultery, Columbine, PTSD, Drug Addiction, Murder, Womens prisons (In great detail), buried corpses (in greater detail) and a paper about civil war times (in RIDICULOUS detail). Not my favorite.

Judy Mann I agree. I so wanted to like this book- I really did but no dice.Myself I think the main problem was that Wally Lamb couldn't figure out which side of the fence he was on. The old Wally Lamb would've ridiculed all the Anger Management B.S. but this new guy sucked it all in.The old Wally Lamb would've been a whole lot smarter than this new guy.It really is too bad.

Marcia for all those reasons above ..what makes a book interesting? flowers and music only positive and happy tweeting birds? come on...real life..and with all the woes of the world... the most complex and imperfect stories that have that hard to believe element .. are Brilliant .. its what i want.. I do not want perfection.. or perfect characters I want to feel something.. uncomfortable as it may be.
