I found this to be a most enjoyable read.
Since his short career as a police constable came to an abrupt end, due to him arresting the Mayor, Harry Bell ponders what to do next. Being in the police had been his dream. However, when his landlady tells him she is going to be removed from her property due to her accounts not being in order, which she swears is not true, Harry sets aside his own concerns and assures her he will look into the matter, hopefully, with the help of his friend and former sergeant.
It is at this point that he happens to find himself being followed by a dog. But, when thinking the dog is a stray looking for a home, he discovers that this is no ordinary dog - this dog, called Prince, can talk and wants to help him with his enquiries.
Nevertheless, even with the help of a dog that can talk and his former sergeant, Harry soon discovers that what he thought to be a simple case of checking his landlady's accounts, finds himself involved in fraud, drug dealing and murder!
What happens next? ...... I'll leave you to find out for yourself.
