Small town Texas breeds fantastic characters, and this book proves that out. Each character dragged me inside their lives, and in the end, I cared about Anastasia the most. Although not graphic, she was a victim of sexual abuse by her father and this haunted her young life and influenced her adult life. She is victorious, but without giving spoilers, let's just say, all characters (who survive) do a lot of growing in this novel. I recommend it highly.
