Whatever. Another book to be discussed at Sasquan. Certainly this one is well known and well thought of by some. I've often heard this and the Narnia books of C. S. Lewis described as great works of Christian fiction and as allegories - neither of which are reasons I would seek them out. What I found in this one was a book lacking in story and plot and real characters. The science was stupid and wrong. The aliens and their world (Mars) nonsensical. There was a bit of philosophizing here and there which was of some interest but really nothing that stood out as memorable or different. 1.5 of 5.
